I don't read much nonfiction so this category was always going to be one of the most difficult for me. I decided to dive in now so I have plenty of time to finish the book.

I've had this book sitting on my shelf for about a year now. My mom bought it for my birthday last year. I don't know why. I guess she thought that since I like books and animals I must love books about animals. She's wrong, but she's gotten me worse presents. It's a lot more flowery than I expected of nonfiction, but the language is vivid and engaging.
