Before I didn't like too much the chapters about Kaladin's past (I didn't dislike them, but they were not my favourites) but now I have to know why he becames a soldier.

They really had the opportunity to make a great battle (maybe it would haven't been a decisive battle, because we don't know so much about the Parshendi, and I'm curious! but it woul have been a great battle nonetheless!) and he just left.
