Savannah Slone (readsavread) What do you think would be happening now in everyone's lives if the show never ended?

Caryn (cmhall) | 13 comments Grandpa is gone. Emily is a meddling widow, lonely and driving Luke and Lorelei nuts. They have three kids...two boys and a mini Emily who won't wear jeans and wants the princess lifestyle, and she attends Chilton. She is not a mean girl, but rules the school a lot like Paris. But she and Grandma Emily are never happy with each other because they are too much alike. Mini Emily out snobs the snob. And Paris is running Chilton -- backed by her law degree. She never could handle being around sick people. She and Doyle have a little boy who is a total jock and anti intellectual who is always in trouble for pranks. Luke's daughter is the town doctor -- geeky science nut. Emily has sold the house and bought the Twickham house, and is Now part of the 'we love them even tho they are crazy' Stars Hollow cast -- and she has dragged the DAR and coming out balls with her. She and Miss Patty are really good friends despite their differences and frequent sparring. Michele is gone to run a 5-star in France, so sukey's son Davey works at the Inn. Luke and Lorelei still work their businesses and it's all been smooth success. Lorelei and Sukey have written a book about opening and running the Inn, full of tips on decorating and hospitality and recipes. They are famous and actually have a second inn in the
next town. Luke's sister runs it because TJ went to the great renaissance fair in the sky. Their kid is more hippie bohemian than mom ever was. Sukey's daughter is a crazy picky chef too. The third sukey's kid is a mini Jackson. Frances Mayes comes to visit. Martha Stewart comes to visit. Melissa Rivers comes to visit. Luke and Lorelei live in the same house, but it has an addition of an extra room and bath fir the boys. The mini Emily is in Rory's old room. Rory and Jess are both successful authors. Both of them sane and level-headed compared to the rest of the town. They run the bookstore and live above it, and Rory travels constantly on writing assignments. Her assignments are usually a bit risky. Lane and Zach live in her mothers old house and have a second set of twins -- girls. They have a very successful music career and have turned an old building in town into a recording studio. Kirk is the new Taylor. Taylor is still there and frustrated because Kirk now out Taylor's Taylor.

literati | 17 comments I loved that the show ended with Rory single because so few shows do that, and feel the need for everyone to be 'coupled up' at the end. That being said, I like to think that after Rory went on the campaign trail, she and Jess reconnected at some point. Luke and Lorelai would get married, I think their lives would be pretty similar to how they were in the show in season 5. I could see Lorelai convincing Luke to travel more, but I don't see them moving out of Stars Hollow. So Luke will continue to run the diner, and Lorelai the inn. They continue to go to Friday night dinners and Richard and Emily have warmed to Luke more. Rory reconnects with Jess at Luke's wedding where he is the best man. Lorelai makes some joke about them being 'step-cousins' As intelligent as she was I couldn't really see Rory being a foreign correspondent, but I could see her being a travel writer. So she would travel the world and write with Jess. Paris would finish medical school and her and Doyle have very loud and annoying but smart kids! Lane and Zack would go on a Hep Alien tour and hopefully Hep Alien would become more successful.
Yes, there's not much else that I think would be different than at the end of the show. I've always thought a movie would be nice but I never understood how that would practically work. From my understanding most of the fans would like Amy to write/direct because it's her show and we also want to know those final three words. And most of the cast would only want to be a part of it if she was. But Amy and Dan weren't a part of the final season and last I heard haven't even seen it. So unless you retconned season 7 entirely. I don't think it could happen. It's nice that a reunion is happening this year though but I'm sad it has to happen without Mr Edward Herrmann, RIP
