Should the DM/PM Feature on Goodreads be Removed?

War has broken out between Goodreads users and the new update. For those of you who are against the feature being removed - why? What's your reasoning?

For the minority who supports the removal, what's YOUR reasoning?

the freaking gr people are tired of dealing with all of the reports that they get about people harassing others and I get that but like 🙄 that's part of their JOB to deal with that and NOT ONLY THAT but PMs are how I've forged SEVERAL good online friendships, it's how we connect with others! Can we all collectively agree that we should keep PMs? Imo they do way more good than bad and honestly people are trying to delete accounts and things because PMs are what they stayed for.

I’ve already made countless rants abt this already and won’t bother to make another, but in short hell no. Goodreads is purely being lazy and not actually looking into the source of the problem, actually going through all the reports they get. Gr lazy. Pm good.
