I'm out of school in May so I have all the time in the world to read
I'm in! Serious. Will books (at least 100 pages) still count, just not for buddy reads?

In, serious!@Tati, if you want to read A Game of Throne, count me in. I've been planning to read it since forever and have to force myself to not watch season 2 of the movie because I haven't read the book yet. So I really need to read it :D
Actually, we'll be reading the second book, A Clash of Kings, starting on May 1st, would you be able to join us then? Or do you still have to read the first one?

Jenni, you get points for the pages read, no matter if the books were buddy read or not.

Basically we'll be counting pages rather than books, and then converting to points. so where as usually you'd get 1 point for a book that was 200 pages long, and 1 point for a book that was 800 pages long, this time we'll count it as 200 pages + 800 pages = 1000 pages
1000 pages = 5 points
so you get more points for a longer book basically ☺
@Rachmi and Bri I would love to read the Game of Thrones with you guys

This is a team reading challenge that will run from May 1st to May 31st inclusively. Results will be announced on June 1st.
For this challenge we will be going back to basics, and that means counting how many pages we read ☺
To earn points in this challenge, all you need to do is read and review your books as normal, and tell us how many pages you have read! At the end of the challenge pages will be converted to points at 5 points for every 1000 pages read. Buddy reads will continue to earn extra points ☺ The team with the most points at the end wins!
This challenge will be a team challenge. When signing up please let us know if you want to join a 'Serious' team (reading 8 books or more), or a 'Just for fun' team (reading any number of books). You may also choose to only take part in the 'solo' part of the challenge (there will also be one winner who has earned the most points overall, those people in teams will be automatically entered into the solo challenge as well).
Teams will be picked on April 25th, and team threads opened. Each participant will need to comment on the team thread, confirming that they are 'ready' for the challenge to start, by 0:00 May 1st (Goodreads time: http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time... ). If you do not confirm that you are playing, you will be removed from the team.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF OUR SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT RULES AND POINTS FOR THIS CHALLENGE.
Points:
• 5 points for every 1000 pages read.
• 1 point for buddy read of a book with 200-449 pages.
• 2 points for buddy read of a book with more than 450 pages
(Bonus points for buddy reads will only be given if the buddy read has taken place in our group, and the book read is over 200 pages.)
Rules:
• Books must be read between the 1st of May to the 31st of May inclusive.
• If you started a book before May 1st, please make a note of what page you are on, and claim only the pages read from May 1st onwards.
• Books can be any length, but must be over 200 pages to count for a buddy read point.
• 1 re-read is allowed.
