I'll buy one and read it! The covers don't look familiar, but you never know. I think there were one or two dozen books, it wasn't as extensive as say The Boxcar Children, but there were a good number.

Not sure of it's popularity, I have only seen it in my grade school library and read them religiously in the 4th grade, but they did not exist from Middle School upwards.
The covers were very cartoony, and the titles basically all followed the same format [Name of friends] and the [adjective ghost/zombie/etc] of [some place e.g. tower].
The books basically all followed the same scooby doo-esque pattern. The friends would hear about some ghost or ghoul and go searching it out. 99% of the time the ghost/ghoul just wanted a friend and was really harmless or misunderstood.
I haven't been able to find them since middle school! I credit them with sparking my desire to read, so would love to figure out this GHOULISH memory mystery.
