Hi! I am a new user to goodreads and would love to learn about more groups that are active and interactive among the platform. Does anyone have recommendations for other SciFI and Fantasy Clubs? Maybe some with less structure. This group can feel a bit intimidating at times.

add me as a friemd amd then check what groups im in and hopefully you find some that seem like a good fit for you
Hi, Mind if I join you guys? I'm also curious to find some quieter groups! I joined Space Opera Fans but haven't yet begun to find my way round there.
IDK if this group has less structure like what you referred to but in the Worlds Beyond the Margins group we discuss (and I quote) Adult Fantasy, Scifi, and Horror books that promote diversity and inclusion. In all styles and formats: genre, literary, short stories, graphic novels, comics, poetry, etc.✵Rep We Read✵: POC, LGBTQIA+, Disability, Chronic Illness, Neurodiversity, Mental Health & Fat Positivity.Link: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
There are a bunch of other SFF groups as well like the Hugo readers (I believe there are at least two of them), or groups specific for buddy reads. I think the groups I am in are pretty laid back, though our definision of laid back might differ....
My suggestion is to try all and decide which one is more suitable for you.
From the ones I can recommend, there are: 1. "Beyond Reality" (link). They have 2 monthly reads and a longer project, where they read an entire series, 1 book per month. Otherwise, they are way more laid back when it comes to challenges.
2. "Apocalypse Whenever" (link). They focus on post-apocalyptic and dystopian stories. They only have 1 monthly read.
