Seems I read far more YA than MG this past month. But of what MG I did read, there are two worth mentioning. If you're a fan of Wednesday, you've got to pick up Mystery James Digs Her Own Grave, a supernatural adventure with a bit of mystery and a funeral home/cemetery setting. The other has to be the most unique ghost story I've ever read (hard to describe without giving anything away) that includes tragedy, an evil scientist, and a ghost massacre of the town. Welcome to the Ghost Show: A Great Fall and Halloween Read for Kids Fun MG horror on so many levels.

For myself? I read a handful of books. My favorite was probably Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus by Dusti Bowling, in which a girl who has no arms needs to adjust to a new home in a new state and find her place at her new school. I've already purchased the next book. I also really enjoyed The Legend of Podkin One-Ear by Kieran Larwood, which means I have *another* set of books to add to my Series Challenge. And I just finished Race to the Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse, which is a Rick Riordan presents book. That means fast-paced action/adventure that brings insight into a specific culture ... Native American, in this case. Good stuff!
How about you?
