whats it about and what genre is it
here is the description of the book, hope this clears it up a bit:Lainey is an 18-year-old girl who has overcome numerous hardships to achieve her current status. She is now in college, trying to move past her traumatic childhood, and the New York air is doing her good. A loving community surrounds her as she enters a dazzling new phase in her life, along with her best friends. But right when things are looking bright for her, a shocking rumor about her creeps its way into her life. Before she even knows it, she is being blamed left and right for things she would never even dream of doing. In an effort to escape the chaos, she is forced to seek refuge with her relatives, whom she hasn’t seen since her parents’ tragic passing. After a series of unfathomable events, her cousin’s death leads to secrets about her family's past being unveiled, secrets that have been kept from her for far too long. In this layered bildungsroman novel, readers will be transported through key phases of a brave protagonist’s life through a creative epistolary format. A multitude of themes are explored throughout, evoking emotion and revealing the complexity of life.
