Michael | 2 comments Hi, we're getting a little social media attention from Hank Green over this. The most popular quote in this book has traditionally been attributed to Hank, but he complained on social media that it was originally a Twitter meme, and he didn't want to claim ownership of a quote that wasn't his.

In the last day or two, a couple of well-intentioned librarians have edited the quote. Currently, it lists the author as "Anonymous", and adds to the text: "(anonymous twitter joke mentioned in the book)"

It is a fairly popular quote, over 400 likes, and it has been used by a famous author, so I feel it clearly meets our standards for notability. You can see it here:

I'm not quite sure whether to:
* leave the quote as-is
* remove all mention of it being a secondary source (just the quote, "Anonymous" author, attached to Hank Green's book)
* make the author field slightly more specific ("Anonymous as cited by Hank Green", "Anonymous Twitter User", or similar)

Thoughts?

Scott | 10143 comments It should be deleted. Quotes should only come from "notable" individuals. An anonymous Twit is not notable.
