Liz wrote: "For my audiobook, I'm listening to The Golem and the Jinni but have barely started it so I don't know what to expect yet."I would love to hear your thoughts on that. I have that book on my audible wishlist, because it sounded interesting to me.
I started listening
and am about a third of the way through it. It's very dark. I don't know that I'll be picking up any more John Sandford books after this one; it's just not my taste. I'm also continuing to read through
. It's a little cheesy on the romance side (but they usually always are aren't theY?) I like the far future science fiction aspects of the book too though, so it's a good mix that keeps me reading.
I will definitely let you know. It was the description on Audible that got me. A golem and a jinni are not the traditional subjects of a historical fiction piece, or even most fantasy novels. I love the idea of a female golem; I've always imagined golems as ambiguous, amorphous creatures so it should be interesting to see how the author describes her.
I just started both "The Great Zoo of China" by Matthew Reilly and "The Troop" by Nick Cutter. In addition, I am listening to "Identical strangers : a memoir of twins separated and reunited" by Elyse Schein and Paula Bernstein. I like listening to nonfiction better than fiction. Loving the zoo and troop books! I went back to my love of horror fiction.
Jodie, The Great Zoo of China sounds really interesting, and that cover! Let me know how you end up liking it; I may have to add it to my to-read list.

I love sipping a cold glass of iced tea while a bit of breeze rustles the leaves and my hair as I stretch out on the..."I can't wait to get outside to read! It is probably my favorite place. This week I am reading "Killer Gourmet" by G.A. McKevett as well as listening to "The Christmas Wedding " by James Patterson & "The Last American Vampire" by Seth Grahame-Smith.
Liz, I have a couple of questions about the Bingo card... Do audio books count or do you actually need to READ the book to count? Also what does LGBTQ stand for in the last square?
I finished Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian last week.I also read Sous Chef, which was pretty interesting.
I finished listening to The Tenth Circle by Jodi Picoult as well, and while it was an alright story, it was not my favorite of hers.
Now I'm trying to re-tackle A Dance with Dragons. I started it last year and got nearly halfway through and just stopped for some reason. I've enjoyed the rest of the series, and now that the new season has started on HBO I want to finish reading it before watching that, so I'm trying the audiobook this time. I don't know that I'll have it listened to by the time it's due, but I can always check it out again.

I absolutely loved "The Golem and the Jinni!" I loved it so much, I went out and bought it after reading the library's copy. Let me know what you think of it as you get more into the story.
For this week, I'm still working on "Meet Me in Atlantis" and "Buzzed." I've been busy with school and now I've gotten distracted by "Daredevil" on Netflix. Television shows- always interfering with reading...

What did you think of Daredevil? I haven't watched it yet, but I love that they put the whole season out at once so I can binge it in a weekend.
Vivian, I love Seth Grahame-Smith and want to read The Last American Vampire! I've been waiting for it to become available on OverDrive. For the BINGO card, audiobooks absolutely count, and LGBTQ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer. If there are any squares you aren't sure about or are entirely uninterested in, feel free to substitute a different prompt. Here are some sites that have good examples of prompts:

I've finished reading Stardust by Neil Gaiman and am currently between books. I'm still listening to Neverwhere, also by Neil Gaiman. Next up is The Crocodile on the Sandbank (read by Barbara Rosenblat). Not sure what I'll end up reading.

Chris, "Daredevil" is amazing. I absolutely love it. The pacing is great, the acting is superb. I can't say enough good things about it. My only complaint is that there are only 13 episodes and no season 2. Enjoy binging it over the weekend!

I just wish CPL had a better collection of the Daredevil graphic novels. I don't think we have any and I would really love to see the inspiration behind the television series.
