Only support can merge a claimed profile. Please ask them to merge into the more complete name with initial.
Normal for there to be multiple pages for the same author due to variants in the name. I have set the primary author for these editions to the claimed profile (without the initial). But the combine edition feature is not working right now so this will need to be revisited to get the books combined properly when the issue is resolved.

The book os also listed as “The jupiter game: a first contact space opera” and is shown as by Todd McCaffrey (without the middle initial) at

Not sure if this requires any fixes or not? There is an Author profile under Todd McCaffrey and starts by saying name is Todd J McCaffrey. The Author Profile linked at the first book does not go to same profile.
