What do you think most female protagonist are missing or what really drags their character down in adult fiction in modern books?

I just like it to be natural. Plenty of great female protagonists but when it’s forced into a masculine space or politicized I tend not to like it as much. Not that she has to be a princess or damsel archetype but just a natural strong willed character is best. No forced bravado. Example given: Milla Jovovich in Resident Evil rather than Michelle Rodriguez. The latter seems like a cliche animus gripped character, where the former owns her femininity but is still bold.
