Amanda Edgar (amandaedgar) | 185 comments It’s okay to overlap books between this challenge and the Disney villain challenge, right?

message 11: by Kala (new)

Kala (randomkala93) | 121 comments This challenge starts on the 1st and the Disney one will end on the 30th at midnight. I'm not sure how being in the middle of a book works.

Kala (randomkala93) | 121 comments I don't know how much this group plans but I'll be reading a book off of the Insta Love Bookshelf this month.

You only count the pages read within the time of the challenge. So if I'm 300 pages into a 500 page book when the challenge starts, then once I finish it I can only claim the 200 pages I read during the challenge

Priya (priyalovesreading) | 80 comments Do we just update the spreadsheet with the books we are reading against the prompts they fit and try to complete each part?

message 21: by Kala (new)

Kala (randomkala93) | 121 comments It really depends on what the group likes. Since all the challenges this month are open, it might be OK to update the spreadsheet with the books you plan to read in October and what tasks they fit.

I don't know how everyone else feels about that, though.

message 22: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) | 150 comments Do what feels comfortable for you. Personally, I go with the flow. Read what I want and see what is open on the spreadsheet after where it fits. If someone else has a book completed & reviewed already for a certain prompt and I haven't finished mine yet I would want them to complete it. We all have different reading speeds. Think it only really matters towards very specific prompts such as lists.

Im okay with whatever the group decides. Also in advanced Im totally cool with anyone posting a banked book of mine.

Adding Diana to the team everyone!

message 25: by Carrie (new)

Carrie | 751 comments I read ALOT and try to find books to fill in spots if I see we are "stuck" but do note it on the spreadsheet without marking box as complete(only do that once I have posted on review thread to be counted)! Feel Free to bump mine and preferably move to bank thread so I realize it was bumped and I'm not crazy lol

message 26: by Priya (new)

Priya (priyalovesreading) | 80 comments Yeah I feel the same way. I have updated one book on the sheet but if anyone finishes a book that fits that prompt please feel free to bump it as well!
I'll update other books as I start them.

I will likely just add my books to the spreadsheet after I finish them and post them. I don't want to hold on to a spot that someone else may have something for in case I take longer to finish the book than they do.

Diana (diana_reads07) | 525 comments Same, if someone finishes before me and it fits the category, then delete me on the spreadsheet.

message 30: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Edgar (amandaedgar) | 185 comments If I finished a book today (started 3 days ago), that can't be counted towards the challenge, right?

From what I remember as long as you read 100+ pages in October (today), yes. Only the pages read in October would be included for the page count. Ask Alaina in Q&A to be safe.

You can count however many pages you read in October for this challenge (as long as you read at least 100 pages in October).

Jessie (Saffity) (saffity) | 338 comments Alaina, thank you for the page points part of the spreadsheet!

message 34: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Edgar (amandaedgar) | 185 comments hii, how do we mark if a book is set in Massachusetts AND tagged Halloween? Do we just note it when we post the review?
