Have someone read a book to you, not a paid narrator. While you are riding a horse.

Read a pop up book.

Unless you purged all the old equipment recently, dig up your old cassette player and that box of cassettes which will contain at least one book on tape, and listen to that bad recording.

Go to a local college or uni and see if there is an evening of poetry reading happening soon.

Watch a movie that stays really close to the original book.

In other words, I've got nothing.

I think those were great Jenny!

Mixed-media / multimedia books – books that blend photos, drawings, documents, or typographical play. Example: S. by J.J. Abrams/Doug Dorst

Choose-your-own-adventure / interactive fiction – old-school CYOA books?

Epigraphic or play/script format – some scenes in script-like form, but you could also try a full-on play in book form.

Serial / episodic apps – like reading something on Wattpad, Serial Box (now Realm), or other serialized storytelling platforms.

message 20: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 4105 comments Well, some of Jenny's suggestions would be new to me at least, but not sure where I'm gonna find a horse at short notice 😆

I'll have to see what I can get my hands on. My library is famously rubbish! (and they definitely have a very poor horse selection. I should complain...)

CYOA books aren't exactly new to me either, but it's been a while, lol.

Lexi | 835 comments For tasks, like "Try a book in translation if you haven't this year." Can you still count it even if you have read multiple books in translation this year? (same for essays or poetry if you have already read them this year)
