By day, James teaches the ogre to read philosophy and war. By night, he and Qadira hunt a weapon that could destroy empires. But the deeper James falls into Drool's cause—and Qadira's arms—the more he questions who the real villains are.

Hi, Elise, thanks interest in the series! Book 3 is slated for a Halloween release, and you won’t need to read the earlier books to dive in, it stands on its own. It’s dark fantasy with a fresh, nuanced twist on familiar tropes, steeped in fantasy politics, criminal underworlds, and morally gray characters.
