When her uncle tries to force her into an unwanted marriage and steal her inheritance, Ursula flees to a castle in the Highlands, where she assumes the identity of a governess hired to teach manners and Scottish culture to a young boy. She’s surprised, however, when the boy she expects to be teaching turns out to be a very attractive, grown man.

I really liked Rye, who was an American rancher sent to Scottish Highlands to take over his ancestral estate. He is rough and wild but is a sweet caring man. Ursula was a strong female character who was determined to control her own life. Rye and Ursula could not be more opposite, but their connection is instantaneous. They had great chemistry.

The story moves quickly and kept my attention. This was a really atmospheric Scottish Christmas story, with just a bit of paranormal thrown in..
