Guidance on Pre-Order Unpublish & Goodreads Reviews

Hi! I need some guidance about my book page. My debut novel Elegy (The Grief Sequence, Book 1) currently has reviews and ratings on Goodreads, but the Kindle version is tied to a KDP pre-order that I now need to unpublish since I can't delay the release date anymore.

My concern: if I unpublish the book on KDP and then republish it later (without pre-order), will the existing Goodreads page with reviews/ratings remain intact, or will they be removed/erased when or if the ASIN changes?

I’d like to make sure readers’ reviews stay connected to the book page even if I have to re-upload the title on KDP.

We do not remove out of print books. If a new edition appears with a new ASIN, it will import and should be combined with any older editions.

If the "unpublished" book has and never will be distributed, you can ask support if they will remove it.

Just to double-check: when I republish the book later (and it generates a new ASIN), would it be best for me to request a merge right away so the new edition is linked to the existing Goodreads page with reviews/ratings? I want to make sure readers don’t get confused by multiple editions or lose track of where to leave feedback. Thanks again!

If the editions are not combined automatically you can combine them yourself. I'm pretty sure readers understand about multiple editions.
