Tanisha Naidoo | 7 comments Okay, so I recently published a book and getting sales is not as easy as I thought. I've been posting on Reddit and looking for ARC Reviewers here on Goodreads, but still 0 sales. There was this thing I saw on Reddit called Wrote A Book, right. Anywoo, I got excited and sent them an email all while thinking that it was free. I get a reply, and at the beginning the email says that my book is perfect for their site and that they'd love to promote. Now I got super excited, thinking that I was getting free marketing help, but then I continued reading and found out that I had to pay a monthly fee of $25. I mean it's a reasonable amount because they apparently have 40,000+ viewers every month, but I cannot afford it. See, I'm 16 and very new to this author game, and so I have no idea on how to market my book or get anybody to purchase it. So my fellow members of Booktok, if you have any advice for a poor soul like me, please don't hesitate to say. Even if it's marketing tips or idea's on how to approach other author or customers, it will be much appreciated. 😊

I don't have socials at the moment, strict parents and all, but do you have any suggestions?

Livlyy ⭑.ᐟ | 225 comments I’d suggest you reach out to your gr friends and ask them if they are available to read your arc, this will give you more reach. Maybe make a poll regarding whether someone wants to review your book and say them to invite their friends

Terri (tkreads) | 25 comments First, congrats! Write a book is HUGE!!! At 16, that’s even more of an accomplishment!!!

I would be willing to read your book for free and post a review on TikTok for you. I have a lot of book friends on TikTok, and a lot of them support indie authors such as yourself. Let me know if you are interested!!

Heidi Richardson (hmrichardson) | 5 comments Congrats on your book, Tanisha! How did you publish? Through Kindle Direct Publishing? Is it available here on Goodreads or on Amazon? Did you find any ARC readers? I could be one if you like. I also publish books for people your age, and I might be looking for a beta reader if you're interested. I could give better advice if I know what stage of the journey you're on.

Heather Bolin | 6 comments If you don't have socials because of your parents see if they might set an account for just your book. you wouldn't even need to put your face or anything like that. you could do ascetic posts or pics of your book and type out what you wanted or voice over. there is a lot you can do on tiktok. have you tried doing book sprout. that is where I get a lot of ARCS

Hi Heidi. I published my book on KDP and it's available on Amazon and on Goodreads. I also have found a few ARC readers, and I would love it if you could be one as well.

Quinny Dragonlynx | 39 comments for marketing you could do the same thing that the author of "Assistant to the Villian" does! She does this skit videos of things her book characters would do in different scenarios. and if you need arc readers I'm happy to help.
