I’m reading The Cruel Prince and I’m about almost half way. I’m struggling to finish it, I’ve heard so many good things but it’s not what I was expecting. Do I DNF or push through and finish the book? Are the next 2 books better?!?!

The next books are really entertaining trust me they’re really enjoyable. If ur struggling to finish it I’d say pick a number of pages to read everyday or if you can do audiobooks. 🫶
it is one of my favourite series ever but I found that I was instantly in love with itI would definitely say push through it if you can💖
i didn’t enjoy the first book but the second was wayyy better!! i was glad i pushed through to get to it because i finished the second book so fast :’)
You can always come back to it later. You can read something else and try again. Idk if this works for anyone else but i do it all the time
I read this book but I didn't like it so I didn't finish the series. However, some people love it. If you want to push through then reading a few pages a day should make it easier. If you really don't like it though then don't force yourself. Reading is a hobby not a task. You could also put yourself in a reading slump. There is no shame in dnfing and looking up what happens lol.
I cannot bear it when people say to get through the first book and the second or third are better. There are so many books out there. So many wonderful books that don't require you to slog through hours and hours of your life on something you hate first. If you really want to finish, just read a small chunk each day and start reading something else that you enjoy. I've just looked up the book and it doesn't sound like my cup of tea at all. I was put off any fey/faerie type series by the awful dirge that was ACOTAR. It's OK if you don't like what other people are loving. If you're reading for pleasure, you should be enjoying what you're reading or being moved or all sorts of other things amazing writing can do. If you don't like it, it's OK to leave it. I'm stubborn so I've been known to hate-read and hate-finish in the past but there's some utter tripe that I'd just left unfinished because it doesn't deserve my time. (50 Shades of Grey if you must know).
Don't DNF just read a few chapters at time and you're eventually finish. read some thing else in between.
I would say take a break, read a short novella or read a different book. That always helps me when I want to get through a slower book. I felt the same way about Throne of Glass at first so I paused, read another standalone book, then came back to it. Still took me a while to get through but I'm so glad I did.
If you still don't like it, DNF. I personally read Cruel Prince but it didn't interest me enough so I never finished the series.
Is the book is good maybe you’re not ready to read it this time so you can put it on hold for a while and read others books and then you can return back to it. If it’s bad then you can dnf it depends on your opinion and your mood at this particular time you read the book
Same, cruel prince has been paused on my shelf for forever, I just can't enjoy but don't want to DNF either. Also Powerless by Elsie silver, god what is that ? And Take me apart by Brea Alepou... but they are part of a series, so I am just in a limbo

I felt the same way about throne of glass at first, so I took a break that may or may not have been a year long but when I picked it back up again I loved it so much throne of glass is my number one favorite series now, and also the cruel prince is a close second I loved it smmm
DNF it. Dont care what any other reader says theres simply no point in finishing a book you arent enjoying
Don’t push yourself to finish a book, it’s not like assignments or homework you need to finish. If you think the book is good but you’re not in the mood to finish it you can put it on hold and read another book or try different genre to boost your attention span. If the book is really bad then DNF is good option. Reading suppose to be fun and hobby especially if you read Fiction
