Sheri Sheldon | 6 comments If my book is in KU, am I allowed to give away an epub file?

Michael Kehinde | 10 comments If your book is enrolled in KU, you can’t give away the full EPUB or any other digital version elsewhere during the 90-day enrollment. You’re only allowed to share short samples, print copies, or limited files with editors/reviewers for professional use.

Sheri Sheldon | 6 comments Thank you. I believed this is correct. Someone on Reddit said you can give it away to ARCs but not sell it. But, and ARC is advanced reader, so after publishing, its not considered an ARC, I don't think.

Alfred Wolf | 6 comments Sheri, you’ve got it right — if your book is in KDP Select/Kindle Unlimited, you can’t distribute the full EPUB or any other digital edition elsewhere during the 90-day exclusivity period, whether free or paid.

What is allowed: short excerpts, print copies, or limited files sent directly to editors/reviewers for professional use.

ARC copies only apply before official publication. Once the book is live in KU, it’s no longer considered an ARC, so you can’t use that as a workaround to give away the full file.

Sheri Sheldon | 6 comments Thank you!! It's enrolled in KU and also will be on promotion at the end of the month, so I guess I'll work hard to get people to download it for free from KU or KDP then. Thanks again. I'm on TicTok, BookTok, FB groups, and Reddit. But only 8 reviews so far. NEED MORE! lol
