Katy Lovejoy | 75 comments My sister wants suggestions for beginner chapter books for her to read aloud to my nephew. My nephew is seven and he doesn't like magical that has no logic applied to it stories, I. E magic tree house which requires a lot of suspension of disbelief.

So any suggestions

- the I Survived series (titanic, shark attacks, great molasses flood etc)
- the Arthur chapter books by Marc Brown
- Cam Jansen series by David Adler, fun mystery kids series
- the Who Would Win series by Jerry Palotta, lots of pictures but straight facts very fun for young boys
- A Series of Unfortunate Events, funny, educational vocabulary and just straight orphan misfortune.

Those are just a few I know have appealed to other boys of that age
