After learning about so many shady moves Hardin made during her parents’ murder investigation, Nikki goes to the prison and meets with Mark Todd. He relates the ugly truth about what happened at that party with John as the ringleader drugging and abusing Nikki. Had you suspected anything like this? Did John move to the top of the suspect list?

John had always been one of the people on my suspect list, both for the murder of Nikki's parents, and for the murder of the two girls.

John was high on my list from close to the start. As more information came out, he kept moving to the top.

John was immediately on my radar. For something in the past - around her parents death/that night and wasn't sure how he fit into the recent deaths.

John was on my radar before this.
As soon as it became clear that Mark was not guilty, I suspected John. He was the only other viable suspect. The motive was all that was missing, and Mark provided that.

I really was thinking "date-rape drug" earlier in the story. Just had a hard time thinking her boyfriend was the one responsible. Ugh.

What John did made me ill. At this point, there was nothing I’d put past him.
