A book where the main character makes poor choices

Hey everyone, was wondering if you guys had any book recos where the main lead are such flawed characters (like they actually make poor choices) And they come to a point of realization of some sorts of their issues and either try to work on it or succumb to their demise. Any genre will do, but if it is romance, please recommend me anything that doesn't have explicit smut. Thanks <33
