Matthew Jon (matthewjonsmith) | 6 comments Hello All,
Thank you for all you do.
I made a mistake and allowed Goodreads to Auto-Combine editions.
Now all the books in my "Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs" series have been combined and now list as 1 book. This is not good.

The title structure is:
Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs - (DISTINGUISHING TITLE) : A Horror Story
where the (DISTINGUISHING TITLE) is an album name that separates each book in the series from the other.

So now all 3 books in the series are combined.

Please separate by (DISTINGUISHING TITLE)
The 3 books in the series are;
1. The Dog Days of Youth
2. Grandma Got Run Over by a Psycho
3. A Night on the Town

Thank you in advance and don't hesitate to let me know if you need more info.

Martin | 35946 comments The books should be listed by title with the series name in parentheses after
e.g. The Dog Days of Youth (Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs)

Please correct the titles then it will be a simple matter for us to separate them.

Matthew Jon (matthewjonsmith) | 6 comments I hear you and I can add the series name in parenthesis, but the full titles already include "Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs" because each book is meta framed as a punk rock record so the full titles of the books are

Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs - The Dog Days of Youth : A Horror Story

so with your suggestion it would be
Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs - The Dog Days of Youth : A Horror Story (Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs)

is that fine?
is ok for me to switch them back once they are separated?
(I think the double "Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs" the title is overkill, but I am more than happy to put them that way if it helps the separation process.)

Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly!

Scott | 9302 comments The title should be as Martin states. Do not write the series twice in the title.

And no, of course you can't switch them back later.

Scott | 9302 comments I have corrected the titles and separated the books. Please do not change the titles again, and only combine books that are actually the same.

Matthew Jon (matthewjonsmith) | 6 comments I went and added the series name at the ends of the titles (including series number) as asked.

The titles of the books are
"Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs - The Dog Days of Youth"
"Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs - Grandma Got Run Over by a Psycho"
"Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs - A Night on the Town"

the titles are not
"The Dog Days of Youth"
"Grandma Got Run Over by a Psycho"
"A Night on the Town"

I am not trying to alter the intended titles of the books. Yes, the series is also called "Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs" but that doesn't mean "Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs - (Album Name)" wasn't always the intended title structure of the books in the series.

I have added the series title and series number in parentheses to the titles of each book.

I very much appreciate that you helped me separate the books. The combining was an unintentional mistake of letting goodreads auto-combine and not fully realizing that i couldn't fix any mistakes myself, nor fully grasping it was gonna smash 3 separate books together.

I appreciate the time you took to separate them.

Matthew Jon (matthewjonsmith) | 6 comments I also don't know if Scott took the time to do this or if it is automatic, but I am super grateful that the reviews and ratings are reverting back to their original books as well. (I was soooo mad at myself when I saw that A Night on the Town had all the ratings and reviews.)

Scott, thank you again. Whether or not we agree on how my books should be titled, you are a hero, and you saved my day!
