Children’s book about finding a penny on the ground. Read around 1996-1997.

I am looking for a book that I read when I was a kid. This would’ve been around 1996-1997. I remember it being a small, possibly square book. I believe it was a green color on the outside. It was about a penny. I believe at the beginning, someone picked up a penny off the ground. My gut is telling me it was about animals, not people, but I could be wrong.

I know this is very little to go on, but that’s all I can remember at this point.
