I've combined an autopublicated 2022 book (kindle format) https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
with the new one that will be published next september 2025 (paper format https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...)
The content is not the same, we did a lot of editing work, it's not the same story in the book to be published in september.
Is it possible to decombine please?
Thanks!

But it's the same title, but not the same story!
In my editor contract it's said that it should not be linked in any way to let people think it's the same book! I don't sell the autopublicated book anymore since ive signed the contract either cause I don't have the right (sorry if im not clear, english isnt my first language).

I originally wrote this in French and translated it with Google Translate:
This is the second book in a series called Couleurs de l’âme.
Volumes 1 and 2 were self-published before being accepted by a recognized publishing house (Pratico Édition).
We had originally planned for three books. Volume 1, both in its self-published version and the later edition released by Pratico, are quite similar.
But Volume 2 is not.
We are two authors, and after self-publishing Volume 2, we decided not to write a third book and instead end the series with Volume 2, because we signed a contract with a publishing house). The new edition of Volume 2, which will be released by Pratico in September, was therefore almost entirely rewritten to wrap up the story and make a third book unnecessary.
For example, here are some of the key differences between the self-published Volume 2 and the upcoming Pratico edition:
In the new version, we explain what really happened to the baby who was supposedly dead at birth 18 years ago (this was originally planned for Book 3, and he was supposed to be alive somewhere but he is really dead in the new Volume 2).
The main character Alexandra ends her relationship with Simon, her lover, who betrayed her (whereas in the old version, he was the love of her life).
In the new version, the main character Alexandra ends up with the bad boy Shawn on a Colombian beach (in the old version, the bad boy is kidnapped by a mafia gang and was supposed to die in Book 3).
The mafia gang is arrested and put in prison in the new version (unlike in the old version they were still at large and planned revenge).
There are a lot of spicy scenes in the new Volume 2.
The new Volume 2 features many new characters who didn’t exist in the old version, and we also removed/ended several relationships that were present in the old version (with a female doctor, with the psychologist's daughter, etc.)
The main character Alexandra has a split personality, and this is explored in much more detail in the new Volume 2. She gradually manages to make peace with her alter ego, which is different from the original version of Volume 2.
In the old Volume 2, the crimes were related to juvenile prostitution. In the new Volume 2, the crimes involve young people being kidnapped for experiments by an illegal pharmaceutical lab.
These are truly two separate books that need to remain distinct. We don’t disown the self-published version, but since it has changed so much, it's impossible to associate them.
thanks,

Hi Scott,
Also, there will be an epub/pdf versions of volume 2 that will be published with the paper version from my publisher, it will be confusing and misleading to leave the self-published version associated cause the autopublished version is a kindle edition of the old story (please read the previous comment where I explain differences).
Also, the 2 ratings are me and my editor, so it is not problematic to decombine, it's not like there are 400 ratings...
thanks a lot,

However, it seems from your details that in my opinion, the stories are different enough to separate the books. I have separated them.

Hi again, it was okin june after your intervention, it was separated, but I came today to put information (cover image etc.) for the new book that will be release september 1st but it's still linked with the autopublicated book (as I wrote before, the story is different, it is not the same, even if we keep the title!!!)
What can I do?! I want the edited book by PRATICO to appears alone, not linked to anything else!
Thanks!
Is it possible to delete https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
The forst book was the autopublication and the second the one that will be published by an editor in september 2025. But by combining, it keeps info from the first one and the autopublicated isbn data. But i want to put the data from the editor for this book. So I knoe deleting isn't in your policy, but at least decombine?
please?
Thanks!
