Karen Denise Foster | 154 comments So we just read Older by Jennifer Hartman for our group read for June. It's a slow burn, angsty read.

For me this one was a five star. It has great dialog, great characters, believable storyline, somewhat dark, and not the cringy feelings you sometimes get with a large age-gap story.

Halley is 17 when she meets Reed who is 35 and her best friend's dad. Neither of them know that when they meet. It takes several years before they are actually together. It was a really good read though.

Not insta-love, which I hate, and both characters are very well developed. There is a twist about 3/4th of the way through I didn't expect.

I will think of some others, but I wanted to get this one recommended since I just finished it.

"Hello, good evening, from Brazil to you. I'd like to recommend mine. If you like it, there's another one called Peculiar Contract."

Kaytlin Griffith | 7 comments Birthday girl by Penelope Douglas & sinner by Sierra Simone. Sinner is technically book 2 in a series but they are interconnected and can be read as standalones
