Started and forgot to check in! This is actually my 3rd or 4th time reading this one so no surprises for me lol. I do think it'll be interesting because I think this is my first time reading since being diagnosed with ADHD so I wonder if I'll relate to Nick a little more.
I stayed up way too late last night to finish. I forgot how much I loved this one and I can’t believe I haven’t finished the series yet (and only read book 2 once? I cried pretty much throughout the whole last 20% because I’m such a baby with books lol
It is the first TJ Klune book I have read but after this one I definitely plan on reading more of them. I just finished the book and it was amazing! I can't wait to finish the series.
40% into Flash Fire and (SPOILER: I was not expecting Nick to be an Extraordinary. that definitely caught me off guard)
paige if you put this <*spoiler> before your spoiler text and remove the star then it'll hide your spoiler :) I've read book 2 but not book 3 so no spoiler for me! But they also kinda elude to that in the end chapter of book 1 (from Nick's dad's perspective) so wanted to make sure you read that chapter. the audio had it tooo
Paige wrote: "Thanks for letting me know about the spoiler thing. Do you know if it works on the app too?"Oh I don't think so, the app in general is not great. I usually just use my phone's browser. I was always hoping that when Amazon bought out GR they'd fix it, but unfortunately they did not
Paige wrote: "I'm 85% done with Flash Fire and I like the first one better but this one is still enjoyable"So I don't know if you're in the US, but I know that TJ Klune got a lot of flack for the first book because it was written during a lot of the BLM movements and it portrayed cops in a very very positive light in a way that read as copaganda. I know that he tried to curb that in book 2, but to me it felt a little forced. It could be because my dad was also a cop so I know that no matter how I feel about cops in general, it would always war with how I felt about my dad.
Lol what a roller coaster! Since we usually cry over thd same books I'll warn I cried a lot for the last like 10%
