Combining with Pseudonyms problem

Looking for a little advice on Combining, merging and adding an author pseudonym please.

Yes, I have read the manual but I'm still having an issue. I don't know what I'm missing.

While trying to combine a book by Elysia Lumen Strife I found that the copy to combine had the author's name as Elysia Strife without the middle name. It is shown on the cover as Elysia Strife. Elysia Lumen Strife is a GR author. I assumed I could add the pseudonym "Elysia Strife" as a second author and all would be good but GR won't accept the edit. When I check back later the last edit was 2 months ago, not by me.

There are 14 books listed under the 2 part Elysia Strife name, many more under the 3 part Elysia Lumen Strife, most of them need combining as they are the same titles. Some need merging as "book A" shows the ASIN, "book B" shows the ISBN and Amazon shows both as the same book, listed together, same listing.

How do I combine if I can't add a second author name? Why can't I add the second author name?

To make things more complicated the author has another profile, linked in their bio, E.L. Strife, for SciFi novels and some of those show up on the combine page for Elysia Lumen Strife, some of the books with the 3 part name instead of the E.L. Strife name, none showing a second author pseudonym. How?

Sorry for the long post but I'd really like to sort this and learn how to do it so I know for next time.

As the name shown on the book is entirely included in the Goodreads Author name there is no need for a second profile, just edit the author name on each edition to move them to the main profile.

That is for Elysia Strife

For E.L. Strife you can add Elysia Lumen Strife as secondary author if you wish. All editions should have same primary author and that should be the name used on earliest publication.

"When there are two versions of a name, and the longer fully includes the shorter, and the author indicates they prefer the longer version of the name and does not keep the two names separate, we put everything under the longer version of the name."
