I cried reading Vow of thieves because they were so adorable and Kazi got her happy ending and I don’t mean her marrying Jase but her seeing that her mother was properly buried and resting. It reminded me of my mother and how she suffered so much and I was praying for her relief.
It ends with us made me cry because again it reminded me of my mother and the women in my family who had to suffer and give up their dreams because of men.
A book that made me think and reflect is one that I read recently which is The gilded ones. It talks about subjects such as racism, purity culture, sexism, oppression of POC, power imbalance, sex work and forcing young girls into prostitution and so much more. Despite it being a fantasy young adult book, it did a good job conveying and showing the problems that are relevant in our present life.

I agree. A very heart rendering book.

In a discussion post, Mandy said, 'Want Goosebumps? Read it!'
I accept it's fiction. Everyone I have spoken to with regard to this story believes that in the main part it is true and 'the names and places have been changed to protect people.'
I was aghast at what is happening under the nose of the conveniently blind West. I read this in January and still today the story comes to mind. If Russia is mentioned on the news, this story immediately comes back to me.

When I tell you guys I cried, I was sobbing.
This book is really good, we have Lynn (wants to die) and Liam (wants to live). They both end up in a mental institution. They develop a crazy relationship and the deep feelings of people around them with mental issues was raw and deep. The ending killed me I cried like a baby. Also is a dark romance book with spicy scenes and a few warnings.
