I've got no timeline for it. Anytime this quarter, whatever works for you :)

Last time I listed all the books I currently had planned and then finished them before others could get to them so this time I just put what I have on my radar and would like to read if anyone is interested

I would like to read Arcanum! Whenever is best for you is fine. I don’t have any arcs so can move stuff around. Especially since most of my other books are audio

Hi! I've seen some questions about word placement, so just wanted to drop in and remind folks that the first word of a Scrabble game has to go through the star in the middle! After that the only placement rule is that you have to connect to at least one previous word

esther ⭐️ (in school) | 211 comments hii just a friendly reminder that we have to read for ALL the letters first before we can put down HARMONY ! :)

I'm good for Written in the Stars whenever your schedule works

esther ⭐️ (in school) | 211 comments we can place HARMONY on F8 to L8 ? Y will get the dbl letter score

message 60: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (bookoutbelow) | 248 comments Okay, so since we can't put on review until we've chosen a letter, but we can bank books, my personal opinion is that we don't do letter "claims" but whenever you finish a book you put it on the letters tab if it fits any of the open letters and if not put it in banked.

Does that make sense?

message 61: by DeeNeez (new)

DeeNeez | 414 comments That makes sense to me. I finally got the spreadsheets to work for me.. so now I can input data 😉

hi - first time scrabbler here - for #1 Title begins with the letter (includes “a” and “the”) - does that mean if a title begins with A, An or The you can only count it for an "A" or a "T"?

thanks :)

message 66: by Trio (new)

Trio | 94 comments Annother newbie question - about the Banked Books tab:
Should I just automatically put all my books here and post a review on the Review Thread? Or am I in charge of waiting till there's a spot to use it on the Letters Tab of the SS? And then post on the Reviews thread only when my book is used? Thanks!

I'm unsure about the article question, we only post in the review thread when we're actually using the book so you can put it into banked if it doesn't fit anywhere. It's why I suggested maybe we only put finished books in so that we can keep up with our posts :)

I just finished one that we could currently use but I'm gonna throw it in banked because it's got an MC with an X name so may come in handy later.

Amanda (bookoutbelow) | 248 comments Any interest in this one: The Ten Branches (The Nature of Magic #1) by Flynn Summers ? I started last night and an MC has a Y name which might be good to have some banks of those. I only made it through chapter 1 so can hold off if anyone was interested

Yes, you're right! Book titles that start with "a" or "the" would only count for A or T, respectively. I specified this in the rules because some other challenges we've done before allowed you to skip those letters and use the first letter of the first "real" word in the title, but the Scrabble challenge isn't using that rule. Sorry if that made things confusing!

That's fine. I was thinking if might help others to pick books if they knew what letters others are reading for, but everything will get used eventually any way :)

thank you - I'm glad I asked. I know usually you can use or ignore the articles, but the way you worded it seems clear - only A or T. But I figured it doesn't hurt to ask :)

Trio | 94 comments just to clairify about Banked Books please?
so I only post the review in the Reviews Thread when it is actually being used.

When it does fit, will I be the one to move it over to one of the Active Letters?

Yes, please only post reviews when the book is actually being used. If you finish a book that doesn't work for any of the current letters, you can bank it and post it later.

You do not need to move letters between active and complete - I'll update that on the review thread and on your SS as you post for letters. The only thing you need to post on the review thread other than reviews is the placement for when you want to play a word

esther ⭐️ (in school) | 211 comments btw i don’t mind if any of y’all help me post my reviews, i might be busy studying for tests!

Queen would get us a double word score, or should we hold on to Q for triple word/letter? I'm thinking do Jail this turn and wait for a T, then put QUOTE starting from J6

message 96: by Janeylou (new)
