Hi All, I read a mainstream fiction novel in the 1970s and I'm trying to remember the title. The main character is a teenager, and it's about him growing up. I remember two other things: he develops Osgood Schlatter's disease and has to spend a good portion of the novel in a cast, and there were crazy jokes in there he and his friends made up about reading books like, "Under the Bleachers by Seymour Butts" and "Race to the Outhouse by Willy Makeit". I'm thinking you'd have to be at least 55 to have read this book. If you have any recollection of this book, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
