A new ISBN would require a new edition. You can provide the necessary information in the Adding New Books folder.

Goodreads policy is to keep all published editions on the site, as readers want to shelve the edition they have. If a new ISBN is available, a new edition should be added. It is very surprising to me that a librarian can be unaware of this.
