A library patron asked my colleague about a book they are searching for. They said it is the first in an adult trilogy about a minister who collects spoons. They also mentioned there was a policeman character. Unfortunately that is all the information they could remember, though when asked they said it is not a mystery series. Any insight is appreciated!

Might be The Mill River Recluse? Synopsis mentions a priest pilfering spoons. (Sorry I can't link, mobile hates me lol)
Possibly the Mitford series by Jan Karon? More books in the series than just three though…
