LOLOL Hilarious review, especially the sentence on not asking questions. I have to say, the ‘fun’ tag has produced some interesting reviews
The author and her heroine are women of color, which I am chagrined to admit wasn't my automatic image of a wildlife PhD.
Just in case you haven't already watched this, SNL had a skit on their 50th anniversary show about an alien abduction, which your book review reminded me of. Kate McKinnon and Meryl Streep are hysterical in it. Here is the link.https://www.google.com/search?client=...

Dory Valentine is pursuing a PhD in wildlife biology, studying meerkats, when she's abducted by a group of very self-important but incompetent bird-like aliens.
For reasons that aren't entirely clear, the aliens have established an inter-species breeding program on another planet. Their original plan was a single species. They abducted a large group, but it turns out they ended up with a large group of men (as mentioned, these aliens weren't incredibly sharp). So they set about finding a compatible species to complete their project - and ended up capturing a group of women from Earth.
Now if you're asking yourself "Why not just get women from the original species? Why are they doing any of this?" I can assure you these questions have no place in this book. This is full-on escapism and silliness.
The real question you should be asking is "Just how smutty does this book get?" And the answer is Very Smutty! A bit more explicit than I usually like. For me a it got a little too clinical - I love a good euphemism.
On the plus side, we do actually get a solid storyline and character development.
