The plot of the book talks about someone investigating a murder. The scene of the crime is filled with details, the victim is murder while sitting on a couch. It is a very hot day. Spoiler.

It is a very hot day, but the body is somehow cold and so the timeline of the murder isn't accurate. Later they also tried to sell the house, but the realtor has to tell people someone was murdered in this house.

Do you remember anything else, like the geography, time period (for the story and when the book might have been written/when you read it), male/female author? Was the victim the home owner? Who was selling the house? Is this a crime story, or just an incident in the story? Any extra info, no matter how trivial, could wind up being helpful!

Was the victim the home owner? Who was..."I have a feeling it was talking about a murder like 20 years prior and then the other storyline was about this detective "today". The murderer was also harder to find because the front door of the house was locked, and the open window in the living room I think had something to do with the murder. I think the suspect was the husband but because someone saw him he had an alibi, later that alibi was not accurate because the body was cooled and so the timeline of the murder was messed up
