David Raz (davidraz) | 13077 comments You are a librarian. Is there any reason you cannot do this yourself? Splitting does not require a superlibrarian.

Grace B. (kivaaa) | 15 comments I tried several times (in the span of 3 days). Marked all of them to be separated, got the message "It can take long, check in 15 minutes." but it never separated them.

Tried a different day, same thing. I don't know why it's not working.

Dobby (dobby0390) | 7864 comments It seems to be a system problem:

Grace B. (kivaaa) | 15 comments Thank you for sharing that, Dobby! I knew something's up.

Should I report it somewhere?

David Raz (davidraz) | 13077 comments Have you tried separating from one by one from the combine screen?

Grace B. (kivaaa) | 15 comments Yes, I have, and it's not working either. Tested it today too (just in case), no result.

David Raz (davidraz) | 13077 comments There is no documented privilege letting superlibrarians split editions where others can't. However, I simply marked all editions which said "concise" and clicked split and it seems to have worked.

Tawnya | 4067 comments Out of curiosity, how is this any different from the abridged books that we have to combine with their main titles? That has always struck me as odd since a book that is 150 pages cannot be the same as one that is 1,000. Whole scenes are missing. Some of the abridgements are so severe that CliffsNotes are closer to the original book.

David Raz (davidraz) | 13077 comments I consider abridgements a sort of adaptation. Therefore, I do not combine abridgements with the original material.
