Friendly Warning to Authors – SCAMMERS in Facebook Book Groups

I am new in the group and before I am going to explore it just a quick warning for fellow authors, especially those new to publishing and promotion like me. If you're active in Facebook groups for writers or book marketing, be very careful — there are many scammers using fake profiles to approach you directly.

As soon as you post anything about your book, they may message you pretending to be fellow authors or book marketers. They often use names and photos of real people (sometimes even other writers) and say things like:
“I know how hard it is to get started. I want to help you promote your book.”

They can sound very supportive and convincing — but it’s fake. I haven’t fallen for it myself, but I’ve seen how professional and personal they try to be.

Please double-check who you're talking to before you share any details about your book, your login credentials, or your plans. Stick to trusted platforms and always look for real engagement, not just fancy promises.
