I am not posting any spoilers for this book at all (nothing not revealed in the blurb,) but it's better to read the first book before learning anything about this one. But after you read the first one, you have to read this one to see what happens next!

Wynter and Chase, along with others, emerge from a bunker to find an entirely different world than the one they left six months before. Their very survival is on the line as they enter a world where power grids are down--it's definitely post-apocalyptic. Wynter and Chase leave early to seek out life-saving IV-antibiotics for a friend who is on death's door. This is not easy given that hospitals have been raided and anarchy seems to be the order of the day.

The pacing of this post-apocalyptic thriller is excellent. I'm glad I didn't read this during the Covid shutdowns, because it would have dragged this book down for me--it came out in 2019, so prior to those.
