Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

I was just wondering if anyone is or has read the book Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. I’m currently getting into this series and wanted to know anyone’s thoughts on the series. I heard Netflix came out with a movie based on the book, but I wanted to read it first to compare the two.

Hi! The Uglies is one of my favorite dystopian series of all time. In my personal opinion, I did not like the movie for two main reasons: 1) inconsistencies/changing of the plot and storyline. There was a large one near the end where I had the thought “hmm not sure how The Pretties movie is even going to work because of this change”. With movies of course there is always some differences to the book, but this was a large (and odd) change. 2) I wasn’t a fan of the casting of Tally, I don’t think the actress embodied the character.
However to these points, did I watch it? Yes, after several months of debating if I should or not. Will I watch the second movie when it premieres? Maybe, probably yes just to upset myself again and note all the inconsistencies.

The book series is phenomenal && I hope you’ve loved reading them!
