Alina | 18 comments I'm not much of a dark romance reader, but I hear lots of mixed opinions on Zade and the book, Haunting Adeline, in general. I do find the stalker concept odd because personally I feel as if we shouldn't romanticize concepts like that. But, everyone has different interests and I'm in no place to judge.

Simran Sharma | 1 comments For me, how it works is, I draw a line between Fiction and Reality right. So of course if Zade was real, I wouldn't support that. It is fucked up on so many levels but then it's fiction. That thought makes me navigate the books where I don't have to think about the laws and the right-and-wrongs of reality.

Another thing was he was called out for his actions multiple times. He was called a hypocrite by almost everyone in the book, including his friend. How can he save women from abuse and then do the same to the woman he was obsessed with (it was not love). So it was never once mentioned that he was right or the act was right. He himself says it in the book. And this is a repeated theme throughout the book, even in the second book.

Personally, what I really loved was the author's ability to make me feel: "Everything about him is wrong, he is wrong, and yet I can't help but root for him."

A lot of people today think that adding a few smut scenes make a book dark romance, but that's not how it works right. Smut shouldn't define if the book is a dark romance or not. The book should have darker elements to it that make you question your morality and the way we think but in a safer environment because it is fiction

。.•*¨*•♬✧maeve ✧♬•*¨*•.。 | 25 comments here’s the thing, zade and the whole book itself is FICTIONAL. i understand completely how he is extreme and questionable, but that’s what makes the book entertaining. as someone who loves psychology and darker vibes, i was hooked and very interested. here’s another thing: i don’t understand why zade gets all the hate when he’s one of the only mmcs in dark romance books who actually does good for others? his actions towards addie obviously aren’t “good” but his whole identity is based on helping victims of s*x tr*fficing. that’s rare for a dark romance! ive read so many and im tellingggg you there is so so so much worse. ALSO: there are trigger warnings for a reason people. read them, and if you don’t like what you see, don’t follow through with the book!! dark romance is MEANT to be twisted, morally gray, and unsettling. i respect everyone’s opinion this is just my take- coming from a heavy dark romance reader

aarya♡~ (aarya_) | 47 comments Honestly, everyone are entitled to have their opinion. But in my opinion Content warning exists so that people who don't wanna see stuff like that wouldn't read it yk? If you have a problem or if it's triggering for you then i think people should just not read it. Those are just words in paper not someone's real life so i don't think it's a problem but if you get influence and start to romanticize those stuff in real life then it's you who is the problem who have already been warned from start. Dark romance are problematic. The one who are at fault is acting like 12-13 year old who wants to have a Zade in real life. like no you don't. Hating on a book is everyone's right though. If you don't like it you have right to not act to like it just because everyone is liking it. Dark romance exist because it's dark so these books should be read by people who can separate reality and fiction.
