I have read and really enjoyed some retellings of Pride and Prejudice over the years, so I was excited to read this book. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed by it. I liked how the author reversed the gender roles of the main characters, but I did not really care for any of the characters beyond this. The main plot was ok, but there were so many subplots that didn’t seem to add to the story. The book did improve as it went on, but it had wasted so much time actually getting to the point, that when we found out why there had been a family rift, I was no longer that interested. The book was not terrible, but it was also not as fun as I had hoped it would be.
