Casimir has dark curly hair and haze eyesl. He stands at about six feet and one inch. When it comes to clothing, he keeps things very simple and monochrome. For accessories, he only wears an enchanted cross necklace gifted to him by his father. Casimir's weapons consist of double-bladed throwing knives that he wears on a concealed carry belt at all times and curved sword (kopis) that he wears only when training and fighting.
Personality
Casimir is a very decisive person. He knows what he wants and he will not hesitate to get it. He has a strong will. The word 'no' isn't really in his brain's dictionary. If that leads to a fight, he can handle it. Putting everything together, he's a very tough young man. He can me domineering at times-- a lot of the time. He is quite selfish, always putting himself first and others down. However, he isn't all terrible. Casimir is a scholarly boy. He loves to learn, especially reading. Although truly, that may be his only redemptive trait.
Casimir is exactly what he once despised: a bully. He commands the first years, or anyone below him, around. They will do his bidding or else he'll terrify them with his powers. With that, he loves socializing. As a kid, being deprived of friends and conversations broke him. Now being able to have them, he'll have one no matter what. Picking up social ques isn't his forte though, he still has a lot to learn about socializing. Missions and adventures are an escape back to the wild and a way to prove himself. Only so much can be done at camp however, in a mission, he can prove himself beyond powerful ,just like he is.
Casimir loves learning. When it comes to reading and english, he will never be bored of Shakespeare. Growing from that, he also enjoys writing in a secret diary. While both make him a bit of a target, Casimir doesn't mind, he'll just engage in private. He also enjoys waking up early and watching sunrises. The peaceful silence of the night is always refreshing to him.
Casimir doesn't like the sense of competition. Being a son to the king of gods, the Zeus cabin is filled to the brim with competitive children. He doesn't like feeling compared to or competing with other. He also doesn't like dangerous and harmful pranks. A good joke is fine, but anything that can hurt someone is off the table. His least favorite things of all is being scolded by Zeus. The feeling always makes him feel like a failure and he's grateful it doesn't happen too often.
Casimir has both strengths and weaknesses. He's a very strategic thinker. He is great at taking initiative and has amazing resilience. He is also very assertive when it comes to communication. However, he's terrible at time management and is also a very impatient person. He doesn't know where or how to set boundaries do to his lack of social skills. Along with that, he struggles with understanding other perspectives.
Casimir has only loved one person throughout his life. That person is his mother. And that was never a romantic relationship, mother-son love, nothing more. Now, his heart is as solid as a never-ending storm. There is no getting through to him. If you do, he will trap you in his protective bubble and never expect him to let you go. With that being said, Casimir is a straight boy. He has no attraction to men, but girls... they're a different story.

a set of twelve throwing knives always concealed on him. to ensure he doesn't get rusty, he practices in the range using the knives. he cleans them and makes sure all edges are always sharp.

a sword used for fighting. while an interesting choice, the kopis was his favorite sword when presented. his personal sword is nice and sharp crafted from obsidian himself. he uses the sword less often to ensure the longevity of the blade. a leather sheath always encases the sword that can be attached to the hip for easy transport.

[Enchanted Cross Necklace]
an enchanted necklace gifted to him by his father, Zeus. the enchantment of the necklace is 'Echo of the Thunderer'. when struck down in battle, the necklaces will release a powerful shockwave, stunning enemies and allowed him a chance to recover. the shockwave is selective only affecting enemies while allies feel a harmless breeze. the enchantment is also temperamental, and not controlled by him. it only activates when it senses imminent danger or he is truly overwhelmed. the enchantment does not need to be recharged symbolizing the wrath' of Zeus in the enchantment.

the ability of summoning is possible but for a limited time. prolonged summons leave him drained forcing him to take a break to recharge. it takes concentration to summon. any distractions and stress causes a disruption in the process. in an area with little natural atmospheric activity (indoor space or clear skies) the power is weaker and takes more struggle to create a full storm.
atmokinesis has a special connection to his emotions. each emotion causes a different reaction in a storm. anger causes stronger storms with that are more violent and chaotic (more erratic lightning and thunder rumbling with greater force); however, this causes a lack of control and can lead to accidentally striking allies or spiralling out of control. fear causes unstable storms that are more unpredictable (clouds can form more quickly or dissipate as fast). calmness allows for controlled storms (precise strikes of lighting and steady rain). sadness causes melancholic storms (low rumbles of thunder, steady unrelenting rainfall), the weight of his sadness reflects the storms intensity. stress causes uncontrollable winds (unpredictable directions). love causes a protective steady storm (gentle winds, warm rain, controlled lightning strikes); his storms grow with the intensity of his love reflecting his desire to shield those and allowing his to fight for the safety of himself and others.
●●●●◌ [electrokinesis: lightning generation, status electric shocks, electrical immunity]
if too much electricity is used too quickly, his abilities risk short-circuiting. following intense bursts of electrical attacks, a cooldown period is necessary to recharge internal energy. generating lightning affects his physical stanims-- his strength and ability to fight-- immediately afterwards.

this strength includes lifting heavy objects and landing powerful blows. using his strength in battle can tire him out. overuse can lead to slower movements and less precision. the strength is brute force not finesse. it can overpower enemies but more agile or skillful opponents can outmaneuver him by exploiting his slower reactions.
●●●◌◌ [battle prowess]
his battle prowess makes him a stronger fighter but not perfect. opponents with different fighting styles like stealth or speed will throw him for a loop. while skilled, he's still learning ways to apply his talents in battle causing possible missteps in battle that require quick adaptability.
●●●◌◌ [aerokinesis ( wind generation )]
he can create gusts and small tornadoes however, larger windstorms are more difficult to maintain. due to his medium experience, he may struggle to control precise wind actions. the ability is less effective in areas with little airflower (indoors, caves, etc).
●◌◌◌◌ [knowledge of plants]
this ability is very limited. while knowing the basic functions of plants (healing or poisonous), he can't quickly identify or use plants for more complex tasks. if he tries, it is highly likely to backfire or fail.
after using his strongest abilities, he will face physical exhaustion. this requires more time to recover. his stamina would be depleted after a few uses of heavy powers.
after using powers that require concentration (controlling storm or wind), he will experience mental fatigue. two choices are present in this instance: rest between uses or risk losing control.
History
Casimir was born and raised in Maine, US. Does he know where specifically? No. Just that he was born and raised in the wilderness.

He grew up with no father figure, only his mother who preferred to live in isolation. The reason for that decision is unknown to all except herself. During his younger years, all of the harder work of fighting for himself was done by his mother and he was forbidden from leaving the cabin. She would leave the cabin in the day and return by nightfall with some form of meat or other food to feed the two. When he turned seven, the responsibility was no longer his mothers though. She would leave the cabin and bring him with her, telling him he had to catch whatever he ate. The first few nights he went hungry. But the more he went hungry, the better he got at stalking his catch and killing it efficiently not to allow escape or to ruin and of the good meat. By nine, Casimir was in charge of catching food for not only himself, but his mother as well.
The older he got, the more the forest was his home. All of his skill came from the same person: his mother. From talking to socializing, from hunting and scavenging, from sewing to cooking, from math to english, all of it was learned from his mother.
The year went by long and slow. Casimir's connection to others became lacking. He had no friends, or anyone besides his mother at all. His resort and escape became Shakespeare. The poetic plays and writings became his friend. He became obsessed with the archaic writings and plays, the stories depicting creative and wild realities for his mind.
Weird occurrences began as he got older. He would wish for storms and they would come. He would know random knowledge about the forest and the nature that his mother didn't know. The time passed, the new occurrences became more common. Until one night, everything changed.
Sitting down in my chair, mother was in front of me. Behind me was some presence. I couldn't determine what. Mom had asked for a word, time to talk tonight, instead of me returning to the forest to play with the wildlife. It was strange, she never cared.
"Casimir, there's something you need to know..." her voice was shaky. A bit nervous. Scared perhaps?
"What?" I asked. I wasn't to eager to learn. I was more annoyed to be here rather then in the forest.
"Your father..."
Those words froze me. My mother never spoke of my father. The word was morally forbidden to me. I almost hadn't even recognized it since it's been so long since I last heard it. So why did she speak of my father now?
"Your father wishes to meet you..."
"And where is he?" I asked, pensive. What was I supposed to do? I felt powerless. Here I was, a little kid, learning that his father had magically returned from dust.
"I'm right here." The booming voice came from behind me. I spun so fast in my seat, my head swivelling so swiftly that my hair whipped my eyes. The figure of a sharp and muscular man walked around my seat and beside my mother. But, he seemed off... Odd. He was dressed unlike anyone else I'd seen, though that was few.
My mother sighed. "Casimir, this is your father. Zeus, King of Olympus and King of Gods." There was a pause. "He's your father, and a god. Making you..." There was a long pause. My mother seemed like she would never finish the statement, and she never did.
"A demigod, my son," Zeus said for my mother. A sweet gesture, though nothing soft and warm was in his eyes, they were cold and prideful.
Meeting his father was his turning point. Everything made sense. The storms, the knowledge, his strength. It all added up to his lineage, his father's power.
Even with such a discovery, life never stopped. Casimir spent more time with his father. The god taught him his powers, or how to control them enough for him to be safe. Eventually, another talk ensued, and the decision was made. It was time for Casimir to travel to Camp Half-Blood.
A trip accompanied to the camp by Zeus was easy. Arriving at the camp went fairly well. Settling in once his father left? Wasn't so easy. Meeting the other children of Zeus was messy, the tension was high, the competition ran in their veins. Being the newbie was very intimidating. Even worse, he had no idea how to hold a conversation with any of them.
The first year at camp was a mess. He allowed himself to be trampled by the other children, doing their bidding, allowing himself to be ripped apart by all of the other campers. Eventually, his father visited and showed disappointment and strength. Even so, the man took pity on his situation and gifted him a necklace, one that was supposedly enchanted.
The support of his father helped Casimir find his dominant side, just like his kingly father. The enchanted necklace played its part, stunning those who tried to intimidate and control Casimir and causing those individuals to flee in shock and fear. His personality developed from servant to king. He became what he once despised: a bully.
The habit grew, as first years arrived, he bossed them around. The feeling of power was amazing and not doing the bidding of others anymore was even better. The more time he spent with the habit, the worse it became. He became accustomed to using his title of seniority and power at camp. However, Zeus was not as happy. The god was displeased with how he'd interpreted his gift and told his son to find a healthy balance between power and submission. Casimir decided that that mission was on hold indefinitely.
Not everything is perfect quite yet in his life. Casimir still feels the need to maintain his power at camp. He does this by finding self-satisfaction by completing the challenging tasks and using his abilities. He still falls under the pressure of other 4th years and above when they try to force him to do things (which is limited but happens).![]()

1. you did a really good job of putting in limitations to his power and i trust you to uphold that, but i still want to make a comment to ensure that he isn't too overpowered in roleplay
2. can you clarify what you mean when you say he's in love with his mom?

1. of course. the only times his powers will be used are either the emotionally controlled atmokinesis or when on quests. otherwise, I will keep use to a minimum. most of his powers are battle and fight oriented and I don't intend for him to get into too many fights unless on a quest (I believe I have on in mind depending on an old Collab I had with him) so, that's really it. if you have any specific concerns, please voice them. I can look for ways to address those if needed.

Daeva is shorter, standing at five feet and three inches (5'3"). She has long black hair and chocolatey brown eyes. Her skin is quite pale considering the amount of sun students at Camp Half-Blood receive. Daeva has two dressing styles. Daeva has two personalities depending on the moon cycle and her changing magical strength. Both of her personalities show her a witty and passionate about whatever she's doing. When it's more powerful, she is very vague in social situations. She becomes a scheming witch, hiding as she carries out her plans. When her magic is weaker, she transforms into a youthful and sympathetic person. She becomes more social however remains just as reserved and secretive. Overall, she's a very complex person with a busy schedule and lot of plans that is kept on track with her preciseness and orderliness.
Daeva loves nighttime. From the glow of the moon to the nocturnal wildlife, she enjoys it all. The silence and eerie sense of a peaceful night is one of her favorite things. Besides that, she also loves taking risks. The danger and potential to get caught gives her an adrenaline rush that she can't say no to. It makes her feel alive. Similarly, she loves new experiences because they give her the same alive feeling.
Daeva likes foxes. Arguably, they're her favorite animal. She admires their stealthy wicked nature. She also likes the color purple; the ominousness of a deep purple intrigues her. She enjoys learning. A great curious mind is never terrible to her and as the councillors say. She's very nerdy when it comes to camp subjects but also, testing and experimenting with her magical abilities.
There are plenty of things that gets on Daeva's nerves. For one thing, homework. She despises it since it takes away from her precious time learning about her abilities. She also doesn't like perfect students or braggers. They're too noisy, follow the rules too much, and usually are tattletales.
Daeva suffers from SSS aka Short Sleeper Syndrome. This is a genetic condition that allows her to function perfectly normal with between 4-6 hours of sleep.
Daeva has some amazing qualities. She's a very eager person accepting basically every opportunity she's given. She is very willing to learn when given the option. She's incredibly calm under pressure. However, with that, she also has some less appealing qualities. She has terrible time management and she can't prioritize certain tasks over others. She also is overly focused on minor details making sure everything is perfect when it doesn't have to be.
Daeva is demisexual. She only finds romantic feelings for those she is already close to. She can't feel anything for anyone otherwise. While, she can still notice a cute boy here and there, she doesn't feel any romanticism besides that.

the cloak is enchanted to conceal her aura and make her undetectable by magic. she is still physically visible in the cloak but any spells or attempts to reveal her identity or affect her physically don't work. of worn for too long, the affects of the cloak will weaken due to an exhaustion of the enchantment meaning the full affect is limited.

the ability that ties magic to the phases of the moon, the magic grows stronger or weaker depending on the phase.
moonlight controls her power. the more moonlight she receives, the stronger her abilities. this is also affected by the phases of the moon. clouds covering the moon do cause her to lose her powers and moonlight. she does not receive any special effects from events like blood moons or anything.
no moonlight means no magic. anything from clouds to buildings blocking the light weakens or leaves her powerless. the prolonged use of her abilities leaves her drained, especially when there's less moonlight.

the ability to place magical curses (misfortune, weakness, or supernatural afflictions) on others.
there are three types of curses: mild, moderate, and severe. mild curses include fumbling fingers (target continuously drops objects), whispering shadows (target hears faint whispers), and unlucky step (target trips or bumps into things more often). moderate curses include phantom pain (target feels stabbing pain in a limb), creeping dread (target feels a fear of being watched), and blurring eyes (targets vision becomes unforced). severe curses include binding hex (targets limb is partially paralyzed), hallucination curse (target sees disturbing illusions), and mark of misfortune (target experiences bad luck in various situations). curses can be temporary and strong or weaker and long-term. physical components are required to cast curses and vary depending on the curse.
without the physical components, a curse is not able to be casted. they also can't be cast without a physical link to the person (hair, blood, skin, nail clippings, etc). the more difficult the curse level and the longer the curse duration, the more time and effort the curse takes to cast. curses when cast can leave the caster drained, weak, or unconscious at times. when a curse fails (wrong components, inadequate focus, power imbalance, fatigue, etc), it will backfire and the caster suffers the affect instead.

the ability to see, enter, or control either your own or another's dreams.
at her experience, she can only dreamwalk with nearby individuals or those she has a connection with. her lack of experience means she can't control settings of the dreams she walks in. when walking, her physical body is left in an entranced state, leaving it vulnerable and open for physical attack. time is hard to track when dreamwalking and it sometimes be difficult to return to her body. interactions with a dream are limited to small details and planting suggestions at such a low level.
dreamwalking is a mentally exhausting ability. it can leave casters mentally drained after a session and even can cause headaches, dizziness, or confusion.

the ability to see the future or see hidden knowledge through visions, dreams, or reading of signs.
her visions are limited at a lower level and consist of glimpses of possible futures that are vague and fragmented. based on the phase of the moon, her visions move from non-existent to clearer. visions are often vague and leave unanswered questions. they leave out crucial details. after a vision, she can experience confusion and disorientation along with feeling overwhelmed. she can't control when and what she has a vision about at her level.

rituals require specific components like herbs, symbols, or special objects. there are a variety of rituals ranging from basic to moderate to complicated (these are not the only difficulties since the rituals vary). protective rituals are ward circles (create a magical shield), blessing rituals (bless individuals from harm), protection spells (enchant amulets with protective magic). healing rituals are cleansing rituals (purify an individual or place of a curse), restorative spells (heals wounds or cures sickness), and balancing rituals (restore balance to an individuals life). summoning rituals can summon a familiar (bring a creature or spirit to guide), and godly invocations (summons a deity). blood rituals are blood offerings (offering ones blood to a deity for blessings), ritual sacrifice (blood is spilled in ceremony to summon a demon), and blood magic (use of ones blood to fuel curses). necromantic rituals are spirit communication (commune with spirits), necromancy (summon undead creatures), and resurrection rituals (attempts to bring someone back to life).
rituals take experience and power to conduct. along with that, they take time and effort. rituals have a chance to fail (higher chance harder the ritual), which can either weaken casters powers or create a magical disruption. rituals require great mental, physical, and magical attention and can leave all three fatigued.
History
Daeva was a result of a one night stand. After she was born, she was left with her father who ended up marrying her adoptive mother before she turned two. To her, her father and mother were a happy couple, and she knew nothing else.
Being raised in New York City was a staple of her upbringing. The massive skyscrapers, the bustling streets and sidewalks, and everything in-between was a part of her upbringing. She loved the using the crowds as her escape from her parents after she'd learned her way home to their apartment when she was little. The older she got, she grew to dislike the crowds more and more however as they hindered her ability to get anywhere.
School was another story. The students were all loud city kids. She had every stereotype you could think of in her class: class clown, teachers pet, the rich kid, the tattletale, the perfect student, and everything in-between. This was where her dislike for people developed beginning in elementary school.
The older she grew, life never got any better. The only great thing about her life was the freedom she was granted. Her parents let her wander free at day and gave her food and a bed at night. By middle school, she was very independent.
The day everything changed was like every other. She was in class, got upset when the pick-me-girl decided to steal her seat, and she went to the bathroom to cool off. Her methods though where... unconventional. After days of having the same girl stealing her seat, Daeva had collected plenty of hairs left behind and that day she let her anger out, spewing it all at the clump of hair in her hands before chucking it in the trash. Everything felt amazing until she returned to class to find the same pick-me-girl screaming from phantom pain.
That night, Daeva had a visitor. Her real mother, Hecate came to visit her. The two built a connection that night with Hecate teaching Daeva how to control her powers. The following days, those tips worked. But the longer she didn't use her magic, the more curious she grew. What was she capable of?
That's how her secret night missions began. For years Daeva hadn't been able to sleep a full night like her parents, now she put that time to use. Sneaking around in alleyways and cursing strangers, experimenting with her magic became her pass time and favorite hobby. The only issue turned out to be she was never sneaky enough. When people became cursed in New York City night after night, people caught on...
Life was amazing and normal. All the way up until she turned 14. That birthday, she learned she had the ability of divination. She had a vision. One of a shadowy figure, a shattered charm, a chase though the city streets, a prison, and a knife in dim light. Everything about the vision felt off. That night, she learned another new ability: dreamwalking. She walked with her mother that night, seeking guidance about the vision and learning more about her powers. When she awoke, the front of her mind consisted of a riddle from her mother: "Do not fear the coming dawn, But travel now, before it's gone. Through shadow's veil, the stars will show, The path you see, where you must go." With possible imminent danger, Daeva didn't hesitate. The next night, she ran away from the city and her home, following the stars.
Camp Half-Blood was a journey away. The memories are few or her travels. A forest and a town perhaps. Otherwise, she couldn't recall how she arrived. All she remembered was standing in front of camp staff on morning and being welcomed to Camp Half-Blood. That was the morning she felt a tension and eerie feeling disappear. She was safe, no longer hunted.
Beginning at Camp Half-Blood was sketchy. Her curiosities were still there, stronger now that she was safe. When her mother came to visit as she was settling in, she received two gifts. A cloak to allow her to practice magic without worry of trouble and a candle to reach her if there was a serious issue. That was where Daeva's journey began.
Practicing magic changed things. At day, Daeva settled for a routine of being short and curt with her fellow students. At night, she practiced her abilities on whatever she could find.
One morning a few months later at camp, Daeva was approached by another student. In a private conversation, she learned that all of her practice curses could be revealed, somebody knew it was her. But then she was presented a decision, "Join us in the market dealings or we reveal your secret..." The decision wasn't hard. That's how she entered the black market of Camp Half-Blood.
Over the following year, Daeva gained experience in black market dealings. She cursed students and staff for some version of compensation. She wasn't alone though. She worked in a quartet. The first member had disguising magic, the face of the black market. The person who could change everything to cover their identity and would meet campers and staff to gather information, payment, and inform when deals are complete. The second has stealth and the ability to sneak around gathering secrets and dirt on whoever was needed. The third member was the fighter, a member with abilities and strength to harm others physically with cuts, bruises, death, and anything in-between. The final member was her, the curser and magician.
The market operates on a normal bases. Daeva juggles her tasks the best she can between the black market and the camp. But either way, like was a lot better at the camp then murdered in New York City.![]()

Personality: While he may be a son of Ares, he is not quick to anger unless you go after his friends and loved ones. He has a strong belief in sticking together, so if he sees a betrayal, you'd better run. He occasionally will join in on banter, but doesn't really think about how it makes others feel in the moment.
History: Alexander grew up on his own. His mother abandoned him when his dad left so as not to have to deal with the 'hurt' and 'betrayal' that seeing their child brought. He eventually got taken in by a kind-hearted family and will visit them whenever he gets a chance. He has issues with trust and feeling loved and like he truly belongs due to these experiences, so he fills that gap by making friends with the wrong crowd and bringing other people down. Despite his powers, given from his father, he can't help but still feel weak compared to everyone else(trauma response).

‣ she can drain energy. all sorts of energy. from plants, animals, people, she can pull energy from them with a simple touch (she's joked that once she figures out how to use sunlight like that, she'll be unstoppable) (she cannot in fact function as a solar panel as it turns out however :( ). balancing this out is her abilities to give energy out. exhausted friends, questmates with more destructive powers that might be the only thing that can keep them safe, people around her who have missed meals and are on the verge of passing out, with a touch she can give them her energy (also means she needs to be eating three proper meals a day and be snacking sometimes in between but uh... funny story... she has like two meals a day most of the time and only one on the very bad days). Thing is... she cannot 100% control her abilities.
‣ oftentimes, especially when she is upset or in pain or exhausted, if anyone happens to touch her she will automatically start to pull energy from them. on normal days she can keep a lid on these powers, but on the bad days you will only see her in full sleeves and pants and gloves, hiding away as much of her skin as she can so someone doesn't accidentally touch her and almost die because she's upset enough for her ability to drain them near death. it makes the bad days worse because she can't seek out hugs or comfort in that form without putting people she cares about at risk from her.
‣ and her sleep, these powers mess up her sleep unless she is quite literally sedated and (very rarely) sometimes not even then. unlike most people she doesn't wake up from sleep feeling energised and relaxed. pliant maybe, but exhausted too. in her sleep she isn't fully in control, so slowly and steadily her abilities leech out her energy and push it outwards into the world. sleeping on beds minimises it, but on quests when they sleep on the floor a lot of her energy seeps into the ground so she's not fully functional on mornings. drawbacks of her abilities are not something she likes sharing with people because it just feels so... unreasonable, and in her mind she's convinced herself it isn't that bad. the only person who knows is one of the campers who works in the infirmary and sometimes has to deal with her.
‣ her mother being a goddess of strength also gives her enhanced strength when her emotions are particularly heightened. extremely happy, terrified, enraged, any of that and she could probably break down a door or a tree with ease. she's not sure. never tested it out.

‣ Outwardly she is all smiles and comforting demeanour, always down to help people if asked easy to talk to. On the inside her mind is a mess of overthinking and frustration. She grew up needing to always be good, whether in behavior or achievements and thus anytime she sees people who are overly confident or perhaps arrogant, or people to whom things come very easily, it causes this feeling of jealousy and annoyance that on the rare occasion bursts out in short snappish remarks.
‣ Her habit of bottling everything up, wars with this need to be seen. She regards her emotions as something that inconvenieces people unless it's positive emotions, does her very best to keep people from knowing when she's upset, isn't above lying or shifting the attention away from herself when this happens. And when she shows frustration, anger or expresses that she is overwhelmed, she is always expecting someone to guilt trip her by saying that she has no reason to be feeling this way and that they have dealt with much worse.
‣ Has money related guilt issues, gets this overwhelming sick feeling when people buy her gifts or spend money on her in any way and immediately neede to correct it by paying them back. This leads to disagreements due to miscommunication that she doesn't want to correct sometimes out of embarrassment.
‣ Gets this sort of thrill from joining people in whatever activities they might be doing. She might not be a fan of swimming, or swordfighting, but just to spend time with a friend she will always say yes. Being around people energises her in a way very few things do (unrelated to her powers, this is more like a mental/emotional recharge). Loves being around people, being in the middle of a crowd at celebrations, events, concerts because of the excitement and pure positivity all around.
‣ She constantly lives with this feeling that she isn't doing enough if she isn't the best, and often times has been called an overachiever or told things aren't that serious when she takes challenges and words to heart. Has a need to be needed by people, wants to help people, because that's a role she took on in friend circles when she was much younger and now simply does not know how to escape it. But the moment people help her she feels indebted to them.
‣ She subconsciously tiptoes around the emotions of those older than her. One might notice occasionally that her answers are carefully curated to appease whoever she is talking to. This is mostly when someone raises their voice or otherwise radiates annoyance or anger, and she either automatically tries to defuse the situation or gets the hell out of there and make herself invisible to whoever it is. But also a positive of this is that she is in tune with people's emotions often and tries to step in and help when someone is feeling down.
‣ The mental clock/calendar/schedule she has in her head is what she goes by. She has a certain way, a certain order and certain times she does certain activities. If someone tells (orders) her to do something, that makes her much less likely do. Even if she wanted to do something previously, simply being told to do it makes her mind vehementaly reject the idea out of spite. But if that doesn't occur, she has 5 steps ahead planned down to the minute and people rushing her or telling her to prepone or postpone as a precation annoys her. This also is a problem when some unknown variable causes a delay and almost immeditately she starts overthinking everything.
‣ Neha likes studying, but without pressure, without deadlines. With projects and tasks she will not function without an immediate deadline to keep her worried and working, but when it comes to studying she prefers calm and being given time and space to learn at her own pace. Mathematics especially gets her excited, certain parts of science less so.

‣ she was born in india to a father that hadn't expect nor wanted a kid when he ended up with her. 25, focused on his career and having next to no understanding of how to take care of a child, he was less than impressed when all of a sudden he had a six-month-old to take care of and the child's mother giving him a cryptic message about dangers and a camp that she will need to go to once she is old enough. his family was very traditional and him having had a child with someone he wasn't married to was shameful to them and as such they were happier when neha wasn't in sight. as such there wasn't much help when he got her, scrambling around trying to understand why his six-month-old is crying her heart out or what she can reasonably eat, what to do when he needs to go to work and cannot take her with him. he tries. he neither wanted her, nor was her particularly happy when he got her but he tried, because it isn't the child's fault. trying isn't always enough.

‣ neha grows up surrounded by a diverse group of people, none of them except her father carrying any blood ties to her. there is her playgroup teacher who brings her back home when her father cannot pick her up, there's the neighbours whose sons she grew up playing with and looking up to, there's her father's colleagues who would visit and bring gifts and that one neighbour who's from a different state teaching her about the festivals she celebrsted back home. she picks up on multiple languages fast because of this, a talkative little toddler who mixes up words from different languages that technically isn't right but certainly makes sense. there are good times, there are a lot of good times and she will never deny it because those times matter to her, but later she will look back at her younger self and think 'you were so much better than i am now' and she can never not think that little girl with the laughter and energy would be much more preferable to her current self.
‣ they move to a different states when she is 3, then again at 4. her dad marries his girlfriend a little before the second move and when neha is 5 she gets a little brother. he's small, he's cute, he's a little... opinionated. they're inseparable, they are probably better of separated lest ww3 start, she hates him, when she's older she carries a picture of him with her. it's complicated. because there's jealousy, because her parents are much more lenient with him than they are with her. ("he's younger than you" "he's small" "he only responds to people being sympathetic to him. he doesn't respond to discipline the way you do"). she grows up hating him but unable to not care about him as her brother because it isn't fair that he was never hit for not studying properly, for staying out too late in the park with friends, for going to his friend's houses without informing their parents. he never learnt to read the room when their parents were angry because he was too young, because they wouldn't explode at him when he was a baby and later the fights started to occur less and less when he was older. she learnt to make herself invisible with those fights, learnt what to say and when to diffuse a situation, learnt to figure out what her parents wanted to hear when they're angry and what words of hers could turn a pleasant time into an atmosphere that triggered fight or flight.
‣ there are things she loves about this time too. stories her mother will tell her, mythological stories of which there are plenty. songs of their language and culture of whichs she's only been taught very few up till then. stories behind every festival of theirs, stories about their gods and demigods, about boons and curses, and her mother cultivates her love of stories that eventually leads her to love reading. her father is delighted by it and buys her whichever book she asks for (after ensuring it is age appropriate ofc) on the condition she reads every book atleast thrice. she listens to songs in her native tongue, knows the lyrics even if she can't understand all of their meanings, grows up immersed in multiple cultures and limited photographs because technology is always somehow iffy around her.
‣ she's 12 when they travel to america. 12 when the monster attacks start. closer to olympus, closer to camp half-blood, closer to other demigods and monsters. her father, it turns out, can see through the mist. her mother and brother cannot. if a satyr didn't happen to be there that day when they were shopping, neha shudders to think how that day might have ended. she's separated from the rest of her family that day of the attack, for the next four days running from the stranger that tries to tell her he'll take her somewhere safe (she doesn't trust him, her mother taught her exactly how dangerous the world can be to young girls especially), running from this not-human, unfamiliar terrifying monster that seems hell-bent on seeing her dead.
‣ she is found collapsed a few feet away from thalia's tree by older campers who were alerted to the sounds of a monster, bleeding from a long gash on her back that's drawn from one shoulder to the other. the satyr that happened to find her earlier is reprimanded because he couldn't find her for three days after that first day, and she doesn't really know him that much later over the years. When told about the existence of greek gods, demigods and monsters she is understandably shocked and in denial, and has next to no knowledge about them. there is a fair amount of crying and screaming and she keeps herself locked in one of the rooms of the big house, refusing to believe anyone till she can talk to her parents and see them. it doesn't take much time to find them and arrange that, thanfully everyone is alive and unharmed. it takes time however to explain the existence of the mythical world to the adults who are far too skeptical and ready to take their daughter and run, it doesn't help that they believe in completely different gods, but eventually they are forced to come to terms with this.
‣ one year. that's how long it was intially decided neha will stay at camp. both parents fought immensely about leaving their daughter there but with manipulation of the mist and talking to those in charge they eventually agreed. it's necessary for her to atleast learn how to fight, because now that she knows about the existence of this world the monsters will not stop coming after her. if she doesn't learn, she will die, and if nothing else they have to give her that fighting chance. one year turns into two at the insistence of neha who's settled into this new home fairly well in that year, and slowly she only visits them during the summer and spends most of her time at the camp. she also comes into her powers in her first year, which adds on to the reason why she doesn't want to go home because she has no idea how to control it and is certain she might hurt someone if she went home.

that first year is terrifying to a 12 year old away from her family, tossed into a strange world with gods and monsters she hasn't even heard of before then, monsters that want to kill her simply because of what she is, her biological mother apparently a goddess who will eventually claim her and surrounded by strangers she can technically communicate with but no one who knows her language. it is a very long adjustment period for her, homesickness leaves her bedridden in the hermes cabin where all the unclaimed demigods (of which there are very few) reside. a lot of the food is new too, unfamiliar and not at all to her tastes and she starts skipping meals and getting thinner. someone comments on it, semi-positively, and slowly she stops worrying about skipping meals or forcing down food. it's both helped by and damaging her when her powers manifest because even without eating she can get energy from draining plants or people. well, she doesn't drain them but she takes little energy from everyon to build up her own energy levels. but unable to control how she loses it when she sleeps coupled with her body being unable to make enough of its own energy because she isn’t eating enough she has far too much vertigo and dizzy spells. It takes two years and an intervention before she start eating, sleeps a little better and verbalises the crushing loneliness and even then only one or two people know. she makes it clear that even the smallest details of this being heard by anyone else will be a huge breach of her trust.
‣ during her time at camp she often talks to the camp director when she thinks he might be in a good mood, asks him to tell her stories about the greeks and stories about his own life. in turn she is willing to tell stories of her own, but she much more prefers to listen and when she isn't partaking in camp activities she tries to visit the Big House to talk to whichever adult is present there. authority figures automatically classify as safe in her mind.

‣ knows many people by now, but not many people have more than a surface level knowledge of her and she keeps it that way despite wanting someone who'd get her. as a result she doesn't really have a 'proper' friend group anywhere but she has a few friends and acquaintances scattered around the place.

‣ pyrokinesis. his control over his powers has so far not been affected by his emotions, but rowan isn’t certain whether this is because he came into said powers after a satyr found him, or whether it’s an intrinsic part of the fire powers. atleast as far as he knows they are reliant solely on his level of focus and the amount of energy he has. he has not revealed this abilitiy to anyone because he realised very quickly that no one else in his cabin has it and wonders if there is some reason other than him being a son of hephaestus for this ability.
‣ he’s fireproof. tried and tested and true. well, mostly. Extremely high temperature flames, except he can be burned by blue flames. greek fire is also one he cannot control sadly, so it is something he has come to be wary of.
‣ generally runs hot, but he can also control his body temperature to a certain extent. it has helped on quests to keep his questmates warm or dry after something or the other goes wrong.

physical abilities
‣ due to spending a lot of time in the forges with his half-siblings he has more than the average physical strength even for most demigods (bar the hephaestus cabin of course along with the occasional child of ares or some other demigod who trains far more than expected)
‣ naturally high pain tolerance that has only built up since he stepped into the forges and made very costly mistakes such as dropping a burning block of metal or two on his legs, or getting his fingers nearly crushed with his initial clumsy nature. now he is no longer as clumsy as he once was, but every so often his clumsiness will make its appearance and either get him nearly killed or give his best friend more ammo to make fun of him.
‣ tends to favour brass knuckles over anything, but too many movies have influenced him to throw a circular shield with a far too sharp edge at his enemies. he’s working on his aim but it’s coming along surprisingly well. his hand eye coordination is nothing to scoff at and he has in fact caused monsters to disintegrate using said attack.
‣ decently skilled with a sword and can keep up with the average camper, but favours and is better at defensive stances and moves than offensive ones. him and neha are known to go at it, him with a sword and her with her knives, and so far they're evenly matched if she doesn't use her abilities.

‣ his brain is naturally wired for putting puzzles together, placing the pieces in front of him together in a way that will give him something functional. it doesn’t necessarily have to be the intended machinery or object that the parts belong to, he will figure out a way to rig something or the other together using what he has with him. so far it has worked out and hopefully it will continue to do so.
‣ can wield most weapons available. in the conventional manner? not necessarily. but he can assess the weight of them, shape, whether or not they could be used as a projectile, how effectively they could be swung to cause damage, and he’ll figure out a way to use it that works for him. this has horrified no less than half the most experienced fighters at camp, but no one can quite deny its effectiveness.
‣ has a frankly ridiculous level of patience and ability to hold his tongue that’s built up over the years of his mother demanding he stay silent and not speak unless spoken to. this along with his stubbornness ensures that once he sets his mind to getting an outcome, or wanting something, he can and will outlast anyone trying to oppose it.
‣ great at reading the room and situation, used to maneuvering around other people's feelings and making himself seem much less important than he actually is. being underestimated is his weapon the same way neha's weaponised cheerful demeanour is her, he lets his clumsiness and awkwardness show enough for people to brush off his fit and slightly muscled figure and strikes when people least expect it.
room for improvement
‣ build up on his stamina, practice moderation when using his fire abilities. this is hindered by the fact that nobody is aware he can use fire powers and thus he has to keep hiding it till he knows it is safe to show them.
‣ understand that people need space and not overwhelm them when discussing something distressing and important. he needs to learn to step away and process things and allow others to process before trying to sort out each other's views.
‣ needs to have better stance and form with a sword, it has so far been made up for by his strength and speed in reacting but he needs to eventually improve and that requires perfecting his technique.
‣ focus on more traditional fighting techniques because as much as his makeshift fighting ideas work so far, the traditional combat methods are traditional for a reason and he needs to understand that.
‣ has starting troubles with nearly any and all projects he has considered. coming up with something innovative is not his thing. needs to get better at beginning tasks.

‣ everything is cold calculation and careful consideration in his mind unless it's the middle of the night and he is a little out of it. he's the kind of person who talks in a friendly matter of fact way and talks so much that you walk away thinking you know all about him without realising he's spun half the conversation back on you and what information he has provided is quite generic. he likes a game of cat and mouse with secrets, sometimes because he simply doesn't like talking about what doesn't matter to him in the moment or other times because it's fun. half his habit of holding cards close to his chest is about the thrill of knowing something other people don't, and lying to the gods and the camp adults is just the stakes rising and making him want to do it even more.
‣ he hates leaving conversations incomplete, disagreements unadressed or questions unanswered. it makes him more insistent to restart the conversation because the abrupt end to it sticks wit him for days and gives him this itch to clear the air before everything unravels around him. this sometimes makes him press for conversation far too much and leave the other party annoyed or uncomfortable and someone will often have to step in between to mediate. but if he has to leave that conversation halfway then it will haunt him for the rest of time till it's sorted out and leave him anxious and stressed.
‣ polite and will always humour any attempts to talk to him no matter what situation they are in and is a little bad at saying no to most people. unless he truly dislikes you or really doesn't want to do what you've asked of him, he will automatically say yes to whatever is needed.
‣ is the kind of person to observe things and the way he shows love is by noticing things about people and acting accordingly to lift their moods or make them feel better in any way. loves giving gifts, but will tyr to find out whether or not that is what you want or if there is anything other that he could do make you feel better. it just makes him happy to show care in all the little ways that other people might not bother to or might not realise is how someone wants to be loved.
‣ an absolute motherhen when he wants to be, and oftentimes the only way you can get him to take care of himself is by offering up someone else who isn't taking care of themself and in an attempt to help both of them he will make healthier choices for however long it lasts.

history
‣ his mother is a sharp and innovative women who was bound to draw the attention of one of the gods at some point. she was in her late twenties with a start-up that was only just finding its feet when she had her son, a demigod child that both meant everything to her and also could bring all of her efforts down around her. she was not in a place where she could have a child, but she also did not want to terminate or give him up so their relationship forever remains in a sort of limbo all the way from his childhood till the present time. had it been love she had with hephaestus? she may never know but it had been something important. it had mattered.
‣ his childhood isn't all that bad if he's honest, though his mother carries him around in a baby carrier everywhere while she works. he's not an easy baby, she's only just coming around to the thoughts of motherhood even if she carries herself with a little pride at having drawn this attention of an olympian (her eyes have always seen things she isn't supposed to, the revelation she had that the man she'd been with was a greek deity had ripped the blinds off harshly and she was still reeling from the revelation but this is just another way she will cope with that realisation). eventually he's an year or two into being a more agreeable child, watching with far too intelligent eyes as his mother rises in a field where men are trying to drag her down, watches her command rooms and demand respect and show people just how and why she stands there before them with so much power.

‣ he learns talking faster than most children do because his refuses to baby talk him, instead she talks him through legal and technical jargon as a way for herself to go through it too and by the time rowan is speaking sentences his vocabulary is far better than any other child his age. walking and running come afterwards, but even then for a while he's still carried around in a baby carrier by his mother whenever she has to work because she cannot watch him otherwise and refuses to leave him with a stranger. this ends in his screaming and crying disrupting her work far too often, and sometimes she locks him in her office after making sure it is clear of any dangerous objects, and she tosses in a few toys for good measure to keep him occupied.
‣ rowan is four, almost five, when he meets his future stepdad. julian morton is every bit the dad rowan’s unknown father isn’t, he doesn’t mind coming school plays and shows on days that were originally supposed to be date nights for him and madeline, teaches rowan how to ride a bike and helps him with homework when madeline can’t seem to find the time in her rush for work. he’s five when madeline trusts the man to keep her son safe for a few hours, five when he can recite the tables from 2 to 6 while sitting in the kitchen counter watching julian cook. six when julian sits him down and asks him if he’d be ok with julian marrying his mom and becoming officially family. rowan’s only question is whether he can call julian ‘dad’ now and is extremely confused when the man bursts into tears before agreeing.
‣ he has a hands on approach to learning with most things that his mother picks up on pretty quick, dad encourages thst and especially rowan's interest in mechanics and his creativity. he doesn’t have a lot of toys, his mother doesn't appreciate the mess they make and also wants her son to do things that are more productive, but what he does have a mechanix sets and legos. so many legos. and he loves it, loves building new things all the time, from small childlike houses to a fairly complicated build. nuts and bolts, building blocks and his mother's talks of her work shape his find far before any cartoons or other children's games can. dad tries to help him have a little more of his childhood, indulging in make-believe even if more serious topics bleed in from his mother's words, taking him out to parks or for movies. the only thing both parents come together on is getting him into sports and eventually rowan starts soccer as a way to expend all his restless energy as he comes into his pre-teens.
‣ he is 10 when his world starts to fall apart, but he won't notice it for a while. they have to move suddenly, no explanation, no forewarning, just madeline informing them during dinner that they will need to move soon. aaay from little ears she informs her husband that rowan's father had people who would wish to hurt him and as a result hurt his son, and that said people nearly got rowan. it's a long conversation, with bits and pieces she really can't explain because even she doesn't know it but somehow she convinces him and they move. four times by the time he is almost 12. he's young, but not dumb. he uses those moves as categories and attaches the change in his parents' relationship dynamic with each move. watches in real time as they disagree and miscommunicate and fight. julian tries to keep the fights from rowan, madeline has no such worries believing her son is far more mature for his age. she isn't wrong, but that isn't a good thing. he learns to be seen not heard when they start fighting, learns to be seen not heard in the aftermath when tempers are still high and one wrong word could turn their wrath onto him. he knows it before it happens, is expecting it when his parents sit him down and tell him that they're divorcing. but that he is still both of their son, legally, biologically and in every way that matters. that doesn't help when he feels his world split in two.
‣ he's already been struggling in school, but it doubles down with this. his grades tank. his mother sits him down and makes him study in front of her when she's working at home. slowly they start going back to how they used to be with madeline bringing him to work with her. he sits there in her office finishing up extra work and homework, words getting jumbled in front of his eyes, his perfect handwriting getting worse and worse with each line, his mother's disappointed sighs ringing in his ear at the end of the day when she sees it. dad is nicer when rowan is over at his place. his parents don't live too far away from each other because they didn't wish to uproot his life completely. he is a little bitter about it, but he can tell they are getting a little happier now even if his mother is fully immersing herself in her work. julian takes over his studies as much as he can afford with his own job, he never yells unlike madeline, he will repeat the same thing thrice if that's what it takes. rowan struggles, but "i can tell you're trying. you're improving. it doesn't feel like it, but progress is progress. and i'm proud of you."
‣ his mother can't afford the time and energy to keep them moving all the time. monster attacks start. he barely avoids them, barely gets out of it with his life, the mist covers them up as kidnapping attempts because of his mother's growing success with her tech company. and there are a few actual kidnapping attempts somewhere in there but it's not particularly necessary to separate them. his mother keeps him closer to her all the time, taking the opportunity to start teaching him business and to eventually perhaps take over from her once she gets too old for this in the far future. he's not particularly inclined to, would much rather build things but he knows better than to disagree with her so he goes along. he's nearly 13 when the biggest monster attack happens, separates him from his mother and chases him all around. technology doesn't malfunction as much around him as it does for some others, but there is still little to be done with the mist covering things.
‣ he arrives at camp halfblood led by a satyr that found him trying to lose his dracaena pursuers, bleeding from the neck and limping from his fractured leg. the monsters are nowhere in sight and neither the satyr nor rowan will talk about how they lost or killed their pursuers. but ever since then he has spent most of his summers at camp halfblood and spends the rest of the yead bouncing between his dad's and mother's place. madeline knows most of the rough details regarding the ordeal while julian has only been told that rowan has tentatively reconnected with his biological father's family and thus spends the summers getting to know them.
