Whio | 1 comments Ive searched the internet but my search term not helping. Possibly a WW2 book, as read lots of those as a young person, the main character listened to the Shadow radio programme, it wasnt the main story but geavy part of the plot. I likely read the book in the late 80s, I was probably 10-12 years old. Maybe got it through Scholastic?
Think he was an only child, lived with his parents and listened to that radio show and wanted to be the Shadow - not very much to go on, sorry!
Thank you

Becca (beccalikesbooks) | 5545 comments Keep Smiling Through by Ann Rinaldi? The main character is a girl, not a boy like you remember, but she does want to be like The Shadow.

Becca (beccalikesbooks) | 5545 comments Keep Smiling Through is also from 1996 which is later than you remember... another option is Angel Square by Brian Doyle, which is from 1984 and has a male protagonist.

Mateusz | 19 comments There is German boy in All the Light We Cannot See who listen to radio program about science. Most of the action is happening during WW2, but it is relatively new book(2014).
