Ag ✨ | 18 comments I'm actually writing a novel out of interest because I'm kind of looking for interesting hobbies to keep me busy.
So I wanted to know if the fake dating trope goes well with the crime/thriller themes.
Also do let me know any other combos you fantasize about or are interested in.
I'm a suspense, crime and thriller lover with a little but interested in romance tropes too.

Eralith | 71 comments I think the fake dating trope could work really well in a crime/thriller setting, especially if there’s a strong reason behind it. For instance, one character is undercover while the other is actually involved in the crime—they have to pretend to be together, but the tension of deception and potential betrayal adds to the suspense.

If you're open to other suggestions, an enemies-to-lovers dynamic could also work in a crime setting, like a detective and a suspect forced to work together.

paula kenneth | 99 comments I personally think that if there's a valid and strong reason for why the characters could be fake dating that is related to the crime then it could really work out!!
Another trope you can use in your book is for example two people working on the same case together but one knows something the other person doesn't or one of them is a killer but the second one doesn't know that.
