[DONE] Duplicate book marked as invalid instead of merged

Yes, it was wrongly marked as invalid, which I fixed, reported and I'm also discussing this with the relevant librarian. I am not sure why you asked us to revert this decision rather than doing it yourself. As for merging, it has more than 10k ratings so even staff cannot merge it, only the dev team can help. You will need to contact support and ask them to escalate the issue to the dev team.
I wasn't asking a superlibrarian to set it back to public, which I know I could do. I was working under the assumption that it was a duplicate as the other librarian said. But then it would need to be merged, which I couldn't do myself. I am still not sure whether it should be merged. How does it have more than 10k ratings if the number of ratings shown on the book page says 689 at the moment?

Thank you for your help
I meant that the edition has been shelved (added to shelves) more than 10k times. Since the merge error message refers to "ratings" (if I remember correctly), that's the term we use colloquially. Kay used the same term when announcing this:https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
You can see she also uses "reviews" in the text. Both terms are incorrect, but librarians generally understand what you mean when referring to the 10k limitation.

According to the logs here, another librarian has identified this as a duplicate apparently with an invalid ASIN. But they marked it as invalid instead of merging it. If I understand correctly the correct procedure would be to merge it with the other edition (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...). Needs a super-librarian though if it does in fact need to be deleted.
