YA Romance - Girl has a list/ note that has a guy's name and he finds it

I read this book sometime in the last 3 years I think. A girl, who I think was more of a loner type has this list or note or something that has a guys' name on it. I think it was a shorter name. And she like carries it around or something and then she drops it and he finds it or maybe it's like in a journal that he opens and then sees his name. I'm pretty sure it was in a high school setting but possibly college. He was a jock I think and she did not like him and that was why his name was on that list and then he tries to win her over or something like that but I'm not sure why.

I know that the part of him finding her note (or whatever it is that she wrote his name on) is in the book description. I'm not sure I ever read the book but the book description is in my head and I hate that I apparently didn't put it on my want to read.
