Here's my list:

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Stardust by Neil Gaiman
House of Leaves
Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke

message 2: by Robert (new)

Robert (bigbobbiek) So far, I've gotten the following:

The Demon Apostle - R.A. Salvatore
Dragonspell - Donita K. Paul
Wolf Captured - Jane Lindskold
Crusader - Sara Douglas

We'll see what else I pick up out of my "To Read" list. I think I might look into Childhood's end this month, as well.

♥ Rebecca ♥ | 51 comments I am currently reading Children of the Mind by Orson Scott Card. I have orded The Worthing Saga by Orson Scott Card from my library and that may be next, depending how long it takes to get here. I have also orded The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan. Then somewhere in there I will probably read The Gunslinger by Stephen King.

message 4: by Mediks (new)

Mediks | 2 comments I am currently reading Hinterland by James Clemens and I am waiting for Wrath of a Mad God by Raymond E. Feist and The Third magic by Molly Cochrane.

message 6: by TinaNoir (last edited Apr 03, 2008 10:05AM) (new)

TinaNoir I just started reading The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch this morning. I am only 50 pages in and I am seriously loving it!

message 7: by Tim (new)

Tim (sparklin) | 10 comments I'm going to try to get to The Guild of Xenolinguists by Sheila Finch. I'm not a linguist, but this look very interesting, in sort of a Star Trekkie kinda of way.

message 8: by Jeffrey (last edited Apr 05, 2008 11:55PM) (new)

Jeffrey | 204 comments Let me know what you finally think about the lies of locke lamorra. My wife spilled water on it over the summer and i think its still drying out. Seriously It got soaked and I stopped reading it then and need a reason to get back into it

message 9: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I hope to read more than this, but this is what I have planned out right now.

"The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak
"Finnegans Wake" by James Joyce

message 10: by Robert (new)

Robert (bigbobbiek) I just finished Salvatore's Demon Apostle for the Demon Wars trilogy. Did this book seem weak to anyone else who read the series? I thought the ending was bland and did not do the previous two books justice.

message 11: by ♥ Rebecca ♥ (last edited Apr 08, 2008 09:03PM) (new)

♥ Rebecca ♥ | 51 comments The Princess Bride, in addition to the ones I already listed.

message 12: by Meghan (new)

Meghan | 90 comments Rebecca - that's one of my favorite stories. All the asides have me in stitches.

message 13: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I gave up on "Finnegans Wake". I am now reading The Book Thief. I will also read "Cat's Cradle" by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. I also hope to get in "Northanger Abbey" by Jane Austen.

message 14: by bsc (new)

bsc (bsc0) | 250 comments I'm currently reading Red Mars and Speaker for the Dead, and will be starting on Halting State soon. Hopefully will get Brasyl from the library soon, too. Also, I may finish The Count of Monte Cristo at some point. About half way through the 1300 pages before I became a bit bored.

message 15: by Leslie Ann (new)

Leslie Ann (leslieann) | 185 comments I'm reading three books concurrently now, only one of which is fantasy, surprisingly! Here they are in no particular order:

Fearless Girls, Wise Women & Beloved Sisters--Heroines In Folktales From Around The World
Kathleen Ragan, ed.

Beyound The Green Zone--Dispatches From An Unembedded Journalist In Occupied Iraq
Dahr Jamail

Legacy Of Ashes--The History Of The CIA
Tim Weiner

The folktales are for inspiration for my own writing. The other two are to feed my insatiable appetite for politics.

message 16: by John (new)

John | 129 comments Just finished White Night by Jim Butcher and trying to decide whether to buy the newest in the series, which just came out in hardback. Reading Childhood's End for the discussion. Outside our genres, I'm still plugging away at Plan B 3.0: Mobilizing to Save Civilization, slowly but surely. For classes I teach, I'm re-reading Catch-22 and about to start Cat's Cradle. Before the month's over, I'll be reading Taming of the Shrew for the same reason.

message 17: by Angie (new)

Angie | 342 comments My list for April is:
Neverwhere by Neil Gaimen
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet, this is a long book so my list for April is shortened!

message 18: by Jeffrey (new)

Jeffrey | 204 comments So far I have read 6 books in April. I reread a Mercedes Lackey book called Take a Thief and I read a new fantasy called Shadowbridge by Gregory Frost.

The remaining books were mysteries.

I plan to read Lush Life by Richard Price next

Then in no particular order:
The Stars Down Under by Sandra McDonald (new sf)
A World Too Near by Kay Kenyon (new sf)
In a Time of Treason (new fantasy)

The latter three are second books in trilogies.

message 19: by Terri (new)

Terri (terrilovescrows) | 79 comments I just finished this weekend: Ringworld by Larry Niven which I really enjoyed

And also An Unlikely Redemption by Mary Mogliovi which was a decent vampire/fantasy read.

Next up - Childhood's End re-read and a Lilith Saintcrow paranormal book.

message 20: by Jeffrey (new)

Jeffrey | 204 comments Finished Lush Life which was excellent, but got a copy of Small Favor by Jim Butcher (latest Harry Dresden novel) and I am reading that now.

message 21: by Jeffrey (new)

Jeffrey | 204 comments Finished Small Favor which was very good and also read the Stars Down Under by Sandra McDonald, which was a good read but not nearly as much science fiction.

message 22: by Lucia (new)

Lucia (countingpulses) | 2 comments I'm currently reading "Storeys From The Old Hotel," by Gene Wolfe. It's a collection of his short stories. So far I'm reading "Sonya, Crane Wessleman, and Kittee." I haven't even made a dent in it yet.
