•rosa• | 37 comments I have a TON of books on my TBR and was wondering what everyone thinks about reading multiple books at once

message 2: by Luli (new)

Luli | 107 comments i can only do 2 at a time but some people do like 4 which is insane to me lol

⋆˚୨ৎ˚⋆ Kim ⋆˚୨ৎ˚⋆ (wikimpedia) | 161 comments I'm reading 2 at a time right now! I usually read 2 or 3 at a time. I read one eARC, one book on my Kindle, and one from my physical TBR. I try to keep them all separate genres so I don't get plots mixed up!

message 4: by Cee (new)

Cee Pinto (ceegpinto) | 104 comments I tried it once and it was something. 😅

I managed, but it still felt off because I was afraid of mixing up the plots, I've never done it again!

I'm amazed at those who can read many books at once! You guys are amazing! 💯💯

message 5: by Veronica (new)

Veronica | 29 comments I usually read 2 at a time... one for home, another (pocket) whenever I am outside.

message 7: by Kim (new)

Kim | 1 comments i usually have one ebook or physical going and 1 audio book. sometimes i get crazy and have an e book, physical and audio. depends on my mood lol

message 8: by Chloe (new)

Chloe Hill | 209 comments difficult

message 9: by Nik (new)

Nik Vesely✨ | 89 comments I can do up to 8 at a time but it's kinda hard to keep track of them and I need to do it because of my squirrel brain!

message 10: by Kay (new)

Kay | 11 comments i read like 2 at a time w different genres. one on kindle one physical from the library

message 11: by Em (new)

Em | 1 comments I used to never have multiple books going, but I like to have one physical book and one ebook/audiobook going. I’m able to keep them separate that way.

message 12: by Marie (new)

Marie (romancylover) I usually read 1 physical book, 1 e-ARC, and do an audio book to and from work. The physical book and e-book are usually different genres.

message 13: by Darren (new)

Darren High (darren_the_great) | 14 comments In order to read books all at once, you have to be an absolute machine in my opinion. I can only handle one at a time, I have to be immersed in a single book until the next one!

I don't have the capacity to absorb 2 or more stories at the same time. I see it as a superhuman trait to read 2 or more books at the same time, it's extraordinary.

message 14: by Alaina Kay (new)

Alaina Kay (alaina_kay96) | 34 comments I usually have 3 going at the same time just different variations. I usually am reading an ARC on my kindle, a physical book, and have an audiobook going when I'm working. The only thing I would suggest is to make sure the genres are a little different so you don't get them confused. I once read 2 college romances at once and that didn't work out well😅

message 15: by Ashby (last edited Mar 07, 2025 01:01PM) (new)

Ashby Dodd (ashbydodd) | 84 comments I usually have 3-5 going, but that also includes audiobooks - I like to have a bunch of different genres going at once, that way I can continue reading whatever I'm in the mood for at that moment.

message 16: by Arielle (new)

Arielle Miller | 101 comments I almost always have two going at once - one paperback and one audible. Sometimes two of each... lol

message 17: by •rosa• (new)

•rosa• | 37 comments thank you guys!!! I can't believe some of you read 3+ at once

message 18: by Baruj E. Cohen (new)

Baruj E. Cohen | 5 comments I usually read an ebook and a paperback. And I tend to read faster on my Kindle, so sometimes I'm reading three or four at a time.

message 19: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 9 comments I have an audiobook for when Im doing a hobby or driving daily. And a hardcopy book for regular reading time. I will sometimes include a 3rd book (spiritual) to read before bed. Either way, I'm never in a hurry and they all feel so different being attached to a specific activity. 3 is the absolute max for me.

message 20: by Gary (new)

Gary Feinstein | 20 comments can't do more than 1 at a time.

message 21: by ✩Geetu✩ (new)

✩Geetu✩ | 9 comments I do 1 physical and 1 audio book

message 22: by Anjalina (new)

Anjalina Ubi | 7 comments I cannot do more than one at a time - I end up getting details mixed up. The only time I've read two at once was when I was younger, with Twilight and Midnight Sun (I was reading both POVs at once).

message 23: by SObooks (new)

SObooks | 482 comments Personally I say don’t because you could forget just like me 🤠

message 24: by Beth :) (new)

Beth :) (booksbeth) | 276 comments I can not focus on reading more than one book 😭. if you are able to then go for it. If you're reading multiple books at once because you are stressing about your reading goal, then just lower your reading goal. it's not that serious lol

message 25: by Bhargavi (new)

Bhargavi | 4 comments Usually, reading different genres are my thing... be girlie romantic and then mystery solver...different mood...different personalities😶‍🌫️

message 26: by Kindle Jenner (new)

Kindle Jenner | 328 comments I can do 2 but they have to be different genres and I typically only do it if I’m not enjoying one of them.

message 27: by Jaime (new)

Jaime Montoya | 7 comments Just the students standard, you rapidly get used to it.

message 28: by Lexy (new)

Lexy | 2 comments I normally read 2 at a time but 1 for school 1 for home

message 29: by Fiza (new)

Fiza Pathan (httpwwwgoodreadscomfizapathan) | 45 comments I can read more 10 books at the same time or even more. I'm great at multi-tasking I guess. I've been doing this since I was in junior school in the 3rd grade. Happy Reading to everyone! :)

message 30: by kayla (new)

kayla (kaylacallahann) | 158 comments i hate it. i’m in the middle of like 5 books and i hate it

message 31: by layne ☆ (new)

layne ☆ | 20 comments I’ve never seen how many maximum I can read, but usually I’m reading one to two paperbacks, and one to two online books at once. It really depends on my mood ngl

message 32: by Kay (new)

Kay (cricket_reads) | 223 comments I read a ton at a time cause I am mood reader and get scared to finish book with characters that I'm attached to.

message 33: by Heather D (new)

Heather D | 7 comments I have multiple going at any given time because I'm a mood reader. Mainly physical books, sometimes one kindle book in the mix.

message 34: by Anne (new)

Anne Scott | 7 comments I like reading a couple at a time just based on my mood. If I get frustrated with one book character or am in a mood to hear about another story, I can always just switch which one I’m reading.

message 35: by Jen (new)

Jen | 4 comments It depends on the books for me. Normally I pair a fast paced book with a slower one so im reading two at a time but then I feel like they have to be different themes/genres. But there is a downside because right now I'm reading 3 books all different genres and it feels never-ending.

message 36: by Kyla (new)

Kyla | 1 comments I can usually only do 2 at a time and one has to be an audiobook. I always have one audio book in rotation while I drive to and from work (45mins each way) and one physical or kindle book. Otherwise I start mixing the story lines and characters together.

message 37: by sofie (new)

sofie | 4 comments i usually read 2-3 but rn im gonna start twisted lies. im currently reading twisted lies, keeping 13, last to vanish and fourth wing. i like to switch the genres so im don’t get confused since twisted lies is just spice and romance (and really easy to read) keeping 13 a ya romance, last to vanish which is a thriller and fourth wing which is fantasy (romantasy) so im rn not feeling anything and im might start corrupt, but honestly everyone is different

message 38: by Alijayney (new)

Alijayney | 4 comments I can normally do 3 at a time (2 books 1 audio). I can't mix fantasy books though. It needs to be one fantasy at a time or I will mix the magic and worlds up.

message 39: by Jayla (new)

Jayla | 85 comments I’m usually reading about 5 books at a time.

**+*Alice (⊙_⊙)**+* | 58 comments Hello Fellow readers,

Depends what mood I am in...sometimes I can read 2-3 (3 pushing it) at one time sometimes its just one at a time...-

See Ya,
Alice :)

message 41: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Feuerhak | 6 comments I can typically do two, one physical and one Kindle. However, since I have multiple devices I will read on, and also use Nook and Apple books it may be more than one ebooks. I look at this way... It is no different than watching 2 or 3 shows. Chapters = episodes. :)

message 42: by Malissa (new)

Malissa (malissa1578) | 54 comments I generally have multiple books going between audio, ebook, and physical... I am a big time mood reader which affects what I want to read at any given moment.

kEyShA (Felix's Version) | 34 comments I can like listen to a audio book and then read one at the same time. And then at some times when I am feeling smart I can read like 3 at a time ig?

message 44: by Khadijah (new)

Khadijah Riaz | 70 comments I think its easier/harder for certain individuals to read 2 or more books at once.

message 45: by Amy (new)

Amy | 4 comments I usually read 2-3 at a time. I have a paperback on my bedside table, I read on Kindle every day and if there's a 3rd book involved, it's an audiobook 😁

message 46: by lemon (new)

lemon | 11 comments i read 2 or 3 at a time, one on my phone, one for school, and one just for fun

message 47: by Pully (new)

Pully | 27 comments School times I read the school read and my books for fun at the same time BUT, I never read 2 books at the same time for fun because I tend to only read romance and I get confused. But that’s just me

message 48: by Justin (new)

Justin Thomas | 4 comments Audiobook during work commute, physical book when relaxing.

message 49: by Pearl (new)

Pearl | 6 comments It's good cause I'm a mood reader
